It doesn't really though, we went ahead they charged back at us and we folded, I'm not sure new players would necessarily have made that difference, it shouldn't have happened with the players we had.
I'm not making any comment on the transfer window I'm just saying today didn't make the case.
We have had this issue for year's with team's stepping up the pace and us folding like a pack of cards, this was something I thought would go under poch with his tougher mental approach but clearly not.

At least today served as a reminder to some who insisted that we did not need to invest during the summer and that we can still compete for the league, we are s good side but all the old problems are still there and we didn't strengthen when we should have a top four finish is possible but nothing more.
Tell me, who does Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd or even Liverpool have on the bench if 2 of their 4-5 best attackers are out(Son, Lamela)?

If Martial and Rashford are out, United are fucked, same for Arsenal, god knows where Emery will fish up a striker to put on the bench if Lacazette and Aubameyang gets injured. What if Pedro and Giroud where unavailable or ehm... Sturridge(lol) and Shaqiri(also lol)? It's just a fact either you pay insane amounts of money(like city) to get guys like B Silva and Mahrez to be rotation players or you're like most clubs and get the Llorente's of the world.

Can only agree, I wasn't particularly concerned with Watford scoring for the first 50 mins, more concerned with how our attack were playing. However, Watford grew into the game, Dembele started to get tested and couldn't cope with the workload.

Poch has to see that. We all know Dembele's limitations. Unless of course Poch had his hands tied. Dier injured? Winks & Wanyama not ready yet.

The thing is what I was watching was very much like the Fulham game, with Dier getting swamped in midfield. I don't think it is down to the individual, it is tactical.

The problem for me is playing two up top, then the three midfielders. The cm3 have to do an awful lot, engage their opposite numbers in the centre of the park and then as well have to cover across to the wide open spaces of the flanks (made more open when, as we have seen in both games I mentioned, the wingbacks sinking into a back five). That's a real ask, and when it's Eriksen/Alli being tasked with it then they have to be right at it, disciplined, tenacious and ready to put in a shift. So far this season without the ball they (Eriksen especially) haven't, we've been open, and it's left whoever is at the base of the midfield with a ton of extra work to do. This isn't something that suddenly occurred today, it happened at Newcastle and Fulham too, warning signs have been there.

Today's result was not down to the transfer window (welcome back lads, you went quiet for a few weeks). We were sloppy with passes, and simply did not take the half chances we had (Llorente, Moura, Kane - these were sitters). For me Poch wasn't at fault, as some suggested - he looked composed and tried to freshen things up. We shut down for around 10 minutes and Watford punished us for it. Utd could have done the same but were themselves unhinged.
It is disappointing but the overreaction is simply hilarious. But some were waiting for the excuse to have a go at Spurs and they got it. That's it.
We could have put this game to bed in the first half but didn't, just like Utd could have done with us. It's football. Hands up who thought this was gonna be an easy game... No? Right. We lost, get over it. It's not like they rolled over us.

It was a game between to well organised teams and they slightly edged it, by taking the few chances they got. We didn't

What difference would son or lamela have made to the side today that go out fought and folded we hardly created that many chances.
You can't tell me there was not a single player anywhere in Europe or even world wide that could come in and make a difference even on our pay structure, the club decided not to invest which looks a costly mistake imo.

I don't Know what you guys see in Samchez, he's so weak for a CB. Should never of played today

I think his speed helped us out numerous times in the first half, but he suffered when he needed to fight and be strong. Like someone said in the ratings thread, he needs to sometimes stop trying to go shoulder to shoulder with players because he too often comes off worse.

I'd say it cant play if you have two up front and still want to press and have good pitch coverage. The only way is as some sitting deep counter attacking tactic as we saw in the CL games or Liverpool game.

If we had a Man City 4-1-4-1/4-3-3 operating then maybe, though as I've always said I'd play Alli as the Left Forward in a 4-3-3.

But yeah, you're relying on those individuals to be ultra disciplined and putting in a shift... And so far this season that hasn't been the case.

After hearing Poch’s post match press conference it sounds to me like he didn’t appreciate the players talking about the title after the Man Utd game.

I think Watford will cause trouble for most teams especially at home, but this result is so disappointing because I felt when the tide started to turn we didn't react. Moussa starts giving the ball away in key areas and nothing is done. If he is subbed for Harry this result never happens! It felt so much like the Juventus match and it is disappointing that lessons are not being learnt.

Ben Davies is a solid enough player but we seem to lose something when he plays. I also have to agree with the posts about Davinson Sanchez. He may well be a great player in time to come, but he does seem to have a bit of a headless streak to him at times. It may be that he never really progresses to the level we all thought because of that lack of "football intelligence". Whatever you think of Toby and loyalty he has has bucketloads of that.

Why would they be talking about winning a title which we have no chance of that makes no sense, so in other words after winning at OT they believed their own hype.

Poch’s game management was awful today, i said it last season and i’ll say it again, he reacts way too late to what is happening on the pitch, and makes changes too fucking late every time.

Also why did he change a winning team from Old Trafford, there was no need to chop and change, Dembele is not a holding midfielder. Fuming.
