Think there's some hunger and enthusiasm gone from this team when we play non glamour teams

Maybe it's time for Poch to add a bunch of kids again

It just seems the players are not working hard enough but as everything is monitored that cant be the reason

I think 4-2-3-1 is our best formation but that means 3 from eriksen dele son moura lamela not playing. But we need to get back to that. Think Winks could make a big impact for us. You could partner him with either dembele wanyama or dier. The 2 i would go for for now is dele and eriksen. Give them the Liverpool game

We got bullied in that 2nd half. Sanchez got flattened by deeny.

Im not going to call that spursy but it was a bad day at the office all around. Watford are playing well and this wasn't going to be a walk over.

I don't have much bad things to say about our side, except that Vorm is absolutely horrid. Hugo would've saved those goals. Vorm stays absolutely frozen in goal.. He was the same way in the Semi-Final against United. We need to give Gazzaniga a chance.

I really don't think Vorm was any close to being our biggest problem player today.

How do people think kane did today?

Could he be one of the players Poch is talking about as he doesn’t seem to be aggressive as a Harry Kane on top of his game.

We’ve had a bad day today. Even the best teams have bad days.

Hope we’ve learnt from today and the team is ready for Liverpool in two weeks time. We’ll have more back up players for that game as well.
This was not a bad day for 60-65 mins. It was a Spursy day - dominance with no end product except for a flukey goal.

Most of the time he was ineffective, at times i had to remind myself he was playing.

Piss poor. So many times he took too long or took one touch too many.

Obviously missed that great header at the end, but the earlier chance when he was away down the left channel and Lucas was free in the middle was a terrible waste I thought. Would have put us 2 up.

Kane has not been good for a while. Of course, he will score the type of goal he did at Old Trafford, but he had a simpler chance today and messed up. Then, there's the perennial problem of not passing, almost Defoesque. I think in his head he has some sort of saviour-complex.
It could all just be that there wasn't much of a preseason and we're trying to figure out incorporating Moura as well as waiting for injuries to resolve to sort out the midfield. Today, Pochettino seemed to deliberately not make early changes like in other matches. Maybe, he thought the players weren't following instructions and so left them to their own devices, just so he got to teach them a lesson.
The season is long and we are just at the start. Believe me, the likes of Man Utd will not be wilting again, so our win against them was valuable. Mourinho has got them very combative - Rashford got sent off today - and I hope Poch does the same for us.

Pissed off with this result.

The performance wasn't great and got worse as the game went on. The first half felt like being one touch away from a goal, not great but the typical away game against an in form team. Watford held their own and ended up bullying the defence. Because Spurs let them and didn't control the game. I thought Davies and Dembele didn't play well, and Dembele was in a role he's not that well suited to.

Leaving it to 81 minutes and 2-1 down to make a change when these two in particular weren't having a good game was a huge mistake. No idea how match ready Wanyama is but Dier was also on the bench and so was Rose. At 1-0, which was a very fortunate lead to hold, the team needed strengthening.

I'm not lumping it all on Vorm but we really aren't the same team when Hugo isn't in goal IMHO, I'll get disagree's for saying it and that's fine but I've said so for years.

Dembele wasn't great and you could see it before 10 minutes had gone, Davies not great, very few can hold their heads up to be honest.
Winks came on and dribbled at them and they didn't like it, Dembele didn't drive forward all game did he?
That Danish player we signed a while back needs a kick up the Harris and I'm sorry but what is going on with 'H'?

Severe lack of options on the bench didn't help.
I hope it's taught them to keep title talk to themselves for a bit too.

January window we want to be lining up a CM or two and a LB/LWB.

Well played Watford.

I never cease to be amazed at how the result of a match colours the reports of it.

On monday, on the balance of play, Man. United were the better side. But they defended badly on occasion and we punished them. Yet reports of the match said that we were great in the second half (we weren't) and that United were terrible (they weren't). Apart from his hilarous meltdown, Mourinho had it about right in his press conference.

Against Watford we were much the same. We dominated for most of the game but had a spell when we looked shaky and our marking at two set pieces was terrible. We didn't create much because - as we have been so far this season - we were a little sluggish and, unlike on monday, Watford generally defended quite well. Yet this time we were apparently not really in it and Watford deserved their win. Not the game I watched.

Our play has lacked intensity so far this season but we would still have won today if the ref hadn't decided to run the game in the style of the 1970s. Moura was clearly fouled in the box in the first half and the only reason that a penalty wasn't awarded was because Foster came out to gather. If it was ten yards further back it would have been a foul and a yellow - possibly a red - card. Yet Foster's proximity gave the ref an 'out' and he let it go. In the second half Moura was sent flying through the air when a Watford player shoved him out of the way to get the ball. Again, amazingly, no foul.

In spite of the ref allowing Watford's agricultural tackling, we should still have won if we had maintained concentration and, instead of allowing them to come on to us, had brought some control to the game when they started to exert pressure. I was surprised and disappointed that Winks wasn't introduced at that point.

I suppose we'll put this one down to experience, but we'll need to be significantly better after the international break.

This is the reason why we don't win things. These results happen every season, we have too many of them. Early days, but the trend continues, hopefully we'll minimise it.

From what I saw, the players looked like they thought they'd win just because they showed up to the game, and somehow it would inevitably lead to a win...

Watford wanted it more. We missed Coco and Son big time for this match. Dele was absolutely poor, felt like he lost the ball almost every time he had it.

Two weeks to spew over this. Would have been brilliant to get through to the international break unscathed. We weren't good enough though. In the first half I thought we moved the ball around at good tempo but without really causing them damage and when we got a pretty scrappy goal we should have tried to control the game and not let it be so open. The manager missed a trick not bringing on a midfield player to get a grip on the game as they pushed bodies forward. Winks was very lively when he came on for about ten minutes - he should have been on when we were ahead.

As far as the talk of can we challenge for the title - one victory at Old Trafford didn't confirm we can so one defeat at Vicarage Road doesn't confirm we can't. It's too early to be holding such conversations in respect to the fact the points differential isn't going to be big four games in.

We'll get a bit more clearer idea by the time of the next international break which follows the next four games which for us are:

Liverpool at Wembley
Brighton away
Huddersfield away
Cardiff at Wembley

We'll also have Champions League games and at least one Carabao Cup game sandwiched between those league games. Seven games in all competitions across 22 days until the next international break.

Liverpool is a game I'm even more looking forward to now. I'd rather have that game as our first back because if we turn up and get three points, it rights the wrong of Watford because while it's important to win games against "the rest of the league", you can't win them all so what you have to do is take points off your rivals. If we top the so-called "Top Six mini-league" we'll have a great chance.

Inflicting defeat on Liverpool is huge for us because it puts the ball back in our court in terms of taking a big scalp. And if we do we can't squander the momentum like we did today by dropping points in the following relatively easier games.
Can't see us beating Liverpool if I'm honest nor keeping a clean sheet which we struggle with these days, I can see them having a field day against our poor defending and slow sideways passing game.

Thought he was poor and has been since his injury last season But and it is a big but he continues to score goals.

Are people really suggesting Vorm was at fault for their goals? Jesus wept. Yes he isn't Hugo but what's he supposed to do about a flicked header at pace into the bottom corner, or a bullet header into the top corner from 6 yards?

Lots of other players to blame. Vorm didn't lose us this game
