We could do with some grass in the corners too while we are at it.

Thing is with this theory of us struggling to break teams down due to the size of our pitch - is it really the issue?

Our current pitch isn't that small. Does 50cm either side and 2.5m either end really make THAT much difference?

In terms of teams that come and park the bus it would mean their half is about 2 strides longer - I don't think it really gives us a lot more room and as such I don't expect the new pitch to offer the solution to breaking down such teams.

Should just place the goals on the sidelines if width is such an issue

It doesn't make an awful lot of difference. Walker, rose, Davies and tripper seem to find plenty of space to run into. We have made fourth on two occasions when the bookies didn't give us a hope. We managed close to 35 chances against swansea and flying high right now. It's 5am and I'm sure i have fallen for this AVB wind up lol

With our superior training and fitness regime surely a bigger pitch would help. If teams defend deep and narrow that gives our wide men even more scope to get down the sides.

Even more reason, apart from commercial, brand prestige etc for Baldy to nail down Wembley whilst we are building. If we do end up playing cups at mk we might lose a little fluency. we are generally very good on the road because the home team has to come out more than when they come to the Lane.

Anyone know the pitch dimensions at mk or if there's scope there to go larger?

teams will still defend just as deep and just as narrow, i don't see how it would help.

With more space higher up the pitch, space which will inevitably be there as occasionally their forwards and midfielders will have to be higher, there is more room to maneuver in to get in behind before the opposition is allowed to congeal and organize their narrow box defense. It will make a big and beneficial difference, and so I anxiously await the new stadium for this very reason.

Thought it was Brody who said 'we're gonna need a bigger boat' in Jaws and not Hoops?
