Complete pants, along with the rest of the Marseille defence, which makes ours look rock-solid. In fact, on tonight's show the only one of their players I'd take is Valbuena. Niang and Nasri have been looking pretty impressive in Ligue 1 but were ineffectual tonight.

It's not his fault. Why are you only looking at his errors in a 4 - 0 loss. Surely the responsibility for that only lies with the goalkeeper. The responsibility of the defence is to get forward and do jack when they are there.

I saw the Marseille - Liverpool game yesterday, and I knew someone would comment on that 4-0 loss with Taiwo playing in the team that lost.

When I saw that Marseille starting line up, I knew that they would get problems. The problem is the composure of the team. The unit is very bad, and I cannot understand that they allowErik Gerets to put on a team like that.

Bonnart, Rodriguez, Givet is not good enough defenders, and makes Taiwo look bad in defence. Marseille have better options avalible, but they do not use them. A player like Zubar is a very good defender, Jaques Faty is also a great talent, but the combination is the key here. Marseille have also sold half of their backline with Beye joining Newcastle and Meite joining Bolton.

I also cannot believe that they Cheyrou, Valbuena, Zenden instead of players like Nasri, M'Bami or Oruma and Cisse.

They have a quite good team avalible, but they do not know how to compose a team. That is the main problem.

Taiwo is a great player, but he has to play with a good team unit, and not a composure like they did yesterday. With that team, they will continue to struggle, and it is strange that they don't see it......?

Taiwo managed to look shit all on his own and Valbuena was probably their best player. Strange that you cant see it?

I have finally decided you are just a WUM. You are saying take out only white players, and replace them all with black players (im assuming Nasri was a typing error). Cant you see why this would appear to some (most) as being slightly racist? imagine it the other way around with an English team.

Gerets has succeeded in pulling them out of the drop zone with three wins out of the last four, including one against Lyon away. That suggests two things:

a) he knows what he's doing;
b) guess.

Taiwo looked poor because he is poor, not because of anyone else. Thanks to Setanta it's now possible to see French football in the UK, and the general standard is very weak indeed.

Nasri didn't start because he took a knock at the weekend and Gerets wasn't sure he would last the full 90. Valbuena was their best player. Cissé is rubbish. Since Gerets dropped him Marseille have been doing a lot better. The fans are delighted.
