Taiwo managed to look shit all on his own and Valbuena was probably their best player. Strange that you cant see it?

I can see that Valbuena is a good player, but not compared to what they have to choose from.

I know that the teambuiling is wrong, and that is the reason why they have been struggeling all season. I know that Taiwo is a class player, but in the unit Marseille use, they don't get the best out of him, and it seems like he is the weak link in the team. (I don't say that he don't do errors at all, because he does). The fact is that he would be a much better player if they had composed the team better. I ask the same question: I can't understand that you can't see it...?

Is this the same reason why Kaboul and Zokora don't look very good because the players around them aren't good enough to do their own job and that of their poor colleagues. It can't understand how anyone missed it in the past. Eek

The two clips with his long yard shot is not proof enough to say he is a good player, anyone could have made does shot and still be poor.

Nigeria in the African Cup of Nations next year, what good would he be for us then with Bale and Ekotto out injured?

Think long term, man - Long term! What a bargain it would be if we managed to sign a player like Taiwo. We have great players in Bale and Assou-Ekotto. It is a shame that they both are out injured. He is still avalible for Clubs to buy him, but that won't be long, because Clubs have to know about his talents. We should act first, and do ourself a favour. He would give us something special and what a powerful left foot he has. We need a player who can make a goal out of nothing. It is not often that we score on a long distance shot when the ball is in play. We have scored a few from free kicks, though...

But Taiwo is no secret. Over the last couple of years he's probably been one of the most scouted LBs in Europe. In the summer of 2006 he was on the verge of a move to Valencia, before the deal fell through. Every big club will have been monitoring his situation. You continually seem to think buying players in real life is like buying them on computer games. It really isn't as simple as putting in a small offer and waiting for their club to accept. Also in that post you make Taiwo sound like RVP or Rooney. He's averages 1 goal per season, the same as Paul Stalteri.

Since when has a complete waste of money been a bargain? For that matter, since when has Assou-Ekotto been a great player? And Bale is a great prospect, not a great player.

It would be nice to have a player who can make a goal out of nothing. That player isn't Taiwo. Or at least, he doesn't do it very often. He's not very good at his basic job, either.

As I said before - I do not really care if Taiwo scores 1 goal or 5 goals for Marseille during the season. I register that he is a player with the attributes needed to become a good Premier League player, and is suited to our team. You don't need to know more than that. The best would be if he did not score for Marseille at all, because, then he would be cheaper. I only care about what qualities the player has as an individual, and how he can gel into the current team we already have in place.

We have missed out on so many players in the past, just for just wondering about if he is the right man for the Club. They come back to hount us, and score against us. We have to act, and learn from this. There are so many players signed by oppositon Clubs that we could have had in our squad if we just acted in time.

A full back needs to cover centre backs when ball is on other side of pitch. Needs to learn basics

End

I agree with you on that, but if the back four as a whole learn good organisation in an composed defence, the unit is what is the most important.

1 st: Chimbonda - King - Kaboul - Taiwo

2nd: Stalteri - Dawson - Rocha - Assou-Ekotto

3rd: Ifill - Henville - Gardner - Lee

What a great 1st backfour - we also have good backups.

Dawson will also of course be involved in that backfour, but I rate Kaboul as an excellent player, who will improve and become a great player for us.

Would you not have Dervitte over Archibald Henville.

Dervitte seems promising, but he has been out with a very bad injury a long time. I wrote Archinbald Henville because he already has been involved in the first team - as a substitute.

Dervitte started against Port Vale last year.

Hang on SK you just said you wanted Urby Emanuelson as well so that would make Lee, BAE, Taiwo, Bale and Emanuelson and not forgetting Berchiche that spanish lad we picked up in the summer. We can't have all them. (Well we can but, it's unlikely to happen.)

When we talk about Left backs. Maybe former Chelsea left back Asier Del Horno could be an option for Ramos? He is now back at Bilbao after spending some time with Valencia.

He is of course not my first choice, but I rate him as a good player.

Maybe, SK, maybe. I thought he did quite well in his year at Chelsea (was part of a solid team that pretty much dominated English footie). He's on loan at Bilbao, which means Valencia will probably be in the market for selling him, albeit in the summer. He's no longer needed, so could well be at a knock-down price. The flaw however is his love for Bilbao, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he made the move permanent when the loan has ended.
