TOTTENHAM are chasing Wes Brown and will soon test Manchester United’s resolve with a £5million bid.

Spurs boss Martin Jol is after a top central defender to bolster his push for a Champions League place.
Jol has been snubbed by West Ham’s Anton Ferdinand and Argentine Fabricio Coloccini of Deportivo La Coruna.

No thanks! Gardner and Davenport are better.
  2. Norgie
Rather lop my head of with a spoon.

Im confused as to why we keep looking at centre backs when quite clearly the problem is on the left side.

Can only think that this means that either Dav or big tony are on the way out, perhaps as a makeweight in a deal for Young.

because incase you hadnt noticed ledley is extremely injury proned and when he doesnt play dawson looks shite. we also leak goals like a sive at the moment.

Wes Brown would be way better than Gardner and Davenport as backup, wouldnt pay more than 1.5 for him though as he would be a free transfer in the summer. He can still get a game for the league leaders from time to time, as for Gardner and Davenport, they probably wouldnt make Mancs reserve team, anyone who thinks Wes Brown at a cheap price wouldnt be decent backup is just kidding themselves. yido1986, i think LB is a priority also but taking into consideration when either of daws, leds or chimbo are out we are fucked defensively and havent kept a clean sheet since October in the league. So any signings that would give us better depth is welcomming.

I think Brown would be a good 3rd choice option. Can play in the middle comfortably or on the right, has good experience and often performs well when i see him. His hair seems the only draw back...

Although Davenport has done well when he's come in and he has provided good cover, i think Brown is probably a bit better. And i'd rather him than Gardner. £5m though? Dunno...unless we recouped some of that by selling one of the others of using them to get Young

However much you dislike Ferguson (join the club) he can rate a player. Brown is still a regular squad / back up player for Man U. No way would Gardner or Davenport be Man U back up. Brown only if the price is right though.

I think he would be a good signing and would push Dawson, he would also give us cover at right back. He has a lot of experience as well and i dont think he is that old either. I would like us to sign sivertre though i really rate him he can play well at both left and right back, he also has pace as well.

hehhe, I like these I'd rathers...

I'd have two elephants have their way with me in the roasting position while Wenger jacks off over my face amid taunts about his north london supiriority...

Thankfully its only a little three sentence bite in the sun.

Come on guys! Wes Brown would be a great signing. With all the games we're going to have, we need some quality back up, and he's definitely good enough to push for the right back spot or one of the centre back spots. And the key is that he has great experience.

    lol @ two elephants...

I'd rather be coated in honey and have wenger call me his lil su-g-er poof than... err what was the question again?
  13. bomber
No thanks. And anyway,at his age i can't see him leaving utd for anything less than a definite starting position at another club, which just aint gonna happen here
  14. Yidatron
Brown is v quick, versatile and would be excellent cover for leds/chimbo. He'd be a good replacement for big tony, but I dont think that siging him should necessarily spell the end for davenport as davs is more in the mould of dawson.

Whoever suggested silvestre....please god no. Jol has flirted with the idea of signing in the past. Fair enough...he is a consistent performer in many positions...but that is because he is consistently poor. Maybe Martin might sign me...Im extremely versatile in that I play equally badly in all positions.

Yeh agreed on Silvestre! Pace but not too much quality! Got a chance to shine against Wigan and conceded a needless penalty

He's got a ginger afro FFS!! It would seriously clash with our strip anyway!!
  17. steadster
    would be a good buy
  18. englandsno1
Wes Brown would be a super buy and he is 10 times better than Gardner, but then again that aint hard is it?
Gardner to West Spam or Charlton please...

We'll never break into the Top 3/4 buying their reserves / cast offs . Agree with the post that Ledley is injury prone a la Paul McGrath . Either buy young quality like Curtis Davies ,who hasnt peaked , or Gareth Barry as cover at CB, but will play LB or L-Midfield. Wes Brown NO NO NO , I'd rather p*ss glass.
