The main reason I think he went there is because the fact he is injured, no one would spend £8million on a player that wouldnt be back until at least March and then you only have about a month of games left and considering you need to get match fit, you would be lucky to get a months game

I wouldnt be surprised if clubs make another approach for him in the summer and whilst he may be on high wages, I dont think he is on as high wages as Teola is suggesting as Rooney is on £220k-£250k pw but that is probably around £150k pw after tax(footballers clearly dont pay the 50% tax rate with their image rights). Teola suggests that he wanted between £250k pw to £300k pw in wages after tax which is 3 times what he is earning at inter, I dont really think thats true tbh. It is quiet surprising that he has gone to turkey as you go to Russia for the money and the shit players go to turkey to collect wages that they wouldnt normally get so it is a strange one tbh but who knows, that said alot of players that go turkey seem to come back quickly.

sorry if you dont agree but those wages and the "after CL qualification clause" are very hard to believe considering the position liverpool are in financially and the age of wes? They wouldnt want him as top earner if he did a joe cole (failed sat around) but they still made the CL. Surely they are not stupid enough to do clauses like that. I find most of these liverpool stories very unreliable im afraid.

That's your choice mate, fair enough, but I'd just like to say I wouldn't post stuff that I don't believe is true and, unless I@M being lied to by my friend, this info originates from Ian Ayre himself. Its a very common clause the CL clause though, common knowledge, similar to the Relegation wage reduction clause etc.

Also, Liverpool are fine financially. They are now, however, a lot stricter after Hurricane Comolli. If the right player is available, and he ticks all their boxes and accepts what FSG/BR/Ayre believe is their value, then the money will be paid. Unless some surprise like the wrote off H&G new stadium design costs last year comes up, the club should be on to make a profit, plus there's money left from the sales of Babel, Torres, Meireles as well as all the deadwood high earners off the wage bill.

Because of Dempsey & Gylfi people think FSG are skint, and they kop a lot of flack from Reds, but to give them their due, if they finally get Coutinho and Ince, which they are trying hard to at the price their happy with, they'll of spent around £25m this Jan, as well as £25m in Summer. LFC fans shouldn't be complaining about that imo.

Liverpool's final offer was £90,000 PW now and a clause that meant if we got back in CL while he was with us, his wages would increase to £120,000 (Same as Gerrard) and a match highest earner clause, meaning he'd always be highest or equal highest paid player.

They wouldn't accept anything less than 20% less than Gala offered AFTER TAX!! Utd did make a late enquiry but baulked at his demands because of there requests were after tax so he'd of been on like double what the likes of Rooney and RVP are paid.

Gala als made it clear that the player and his people had till first thing Tues morning to decide or they would pull out altogether which forced his hand some what (as couldn't afford to lose their very generous offer!!) as my mate reckons he was trying to buy time till deadline day if needs be, hoping to a PL team would make a deal.

It shows though what his true motivation is though and this combined with his age could of meant it was an extrememly expensive gamble for any English team to take!

And a very silly one for any PL club to consider outside of Chelsea and man City, where money has no value, because of his love of money before that of playing football. I quite expect Gala to be looking to move him on within a year or eighteen months when he has not been the 'success' expected.

Btw Toela I didn't mean to personally disagree or attack your knowledge hope that didn't come across as the goal. I know ppl have the CL clause but irant that I'd find that a weird clause for Liverpool after recently being stung by lazy high earners etc.

No disrespect to Galatasary but he isn't relevant any more and that's a shame because he's still a quality player.

I take it back, Drogba is official now.

That is the best part of half a million Euros a week on two players. Strange to suddenly see Galatasary so prominent in the transfer market.
