Match: English Premier League (EPL)

When: Saturday 5th May 2018

Where: The Hawthorns

Kick Off: 3:00pm

Referee: Mike Jones

Team Form: WBA LDWDW Spurs WLDLW (All Competitions)

The Baggies have won just one of their last 16 Premier League meetings with us (D9 L6), a 0-1 win at White Hart Lane in 2014. We are unbeaten in our last seven league visits to the Hawthorns (W3, D4). since a 2-0 loss in December 2008. These two wins over us were in the seasons when they were subsequently relegated (Hope this isn't an ominous sign!)

We have scored in each of our last 23 EPL games, the longest current run in the division, and our longest ever run in the competition. We have alternated between winning and not winning in our last 7 final away matches of an EPL campaign (W4 D1 L2), beating Hull 7-1 last season.

Darren Moore has already won more EPL in four matches (2) than Alan Pardew did in eighteen in charge of the Baggies (1), though both victories have been away from home.

Our last two goals at the Hawthorns have both been scored by Dele Ali, and both in 1-1 draws. Harry Kane has scored in his six EPL appearances against West Brom including 3 in 3 at the Hawthorns. He has 15 away goals in the EPL this season, just one goal away from equaling Kevin Phillips' record for most away goals in a single campaign in the competition (16 in 1999 - 00). He has scored the opening goal of a game on nine different occasions this season, more than any other EPL player

Judging by our recent form, we'll make really hard work of it but end up with a narrow win.

2 - 0, second goal in the last five minutes.

Might have been a bit easier for us if these were already relegated, but the fact that they have something to play for could work in our favor though cos they usually park the bus but now have to come out and play for the three points that should give us some space, I predict Eriksen to be the match-winner...........coys.

Tough game and we will struggle. Hoping for a win but we’ll have to bring our A game as their new coach has worked wonders.

Would love to be the team to relegate them, some of the results we've had against them have been awful so I hope we send them down

I've seen a number of posts assuming that WBA have to "come out and play". They wouldn't be that stupid. Moore and his squad know that if they try to play an expansive game against us, they'll get slaughtered.

I expect them to play a modified version of the approach that they have played at WHL/Wembley: two disciplined banks of four, but much more frequent use of the ball over the top of our high defensive line to try to nick a goal. If they can do they early, they can revert to the shut-up-shop approach. If they don't, I'd be surprised if they start to open up until the hour mark, at the earliest.

The time-wasting at Wembley was the worst I have ever seen from the 5th minute onwards. The ref didn't book anyone until about the 82nd minute. I hope we batter them!

Smart money's on a 1-1 draw. 4 of our last 5 games against them have finished 1-1, and considering their good form and our not so good form, it seems likely again.

I'd love to see us sitting third tonight.

Yeah I know there is no prize - but the buzz going into the last two Wembley matches should carry us over
the line ready for a new season with CL football at our true home.

A couple of goals from Harry would be most welcome.

They played the same at home last season...the only time I've seen a team time wasting from the first whistle!
Foster was taking an age every goal kick, Pulis style.

A lovely big scoring win today will help close the GD with Liverpool, not that it matters, and overtake Man Utd's GD which may now be very important.
Take the lead and they have to attack us get a second and they will wilt either way will lead to a big win.
If you can keep your heads while all around you teams are dropping points you will be second my son.

Slightly off topic but it was 8 years ago today when Peter Crouch scored at The Etihad to give us
Champions League football for the first time.

I had wet eyes that night.

Jesus I remember how nervous I was all day that day! Was literally watching the game with a stress ball in hand, it definitely helped. Don't know where it ended up after Crouch scored though :D

Got my pessimistic hat firmly on. I believe we will lose this one today, we're generally not good against this mob and judging by our recent performances and theirs, I can only see them winning because they will put the effort in and will have more desire than us.

Hopefully with them needing a win to avoid relegation, they won't time waste this time. Unless they score early (n)
