whatever fans say in slagging off players for inadequate performances the key thing is in the last few words of the article, 'our confidence is high' which will be key and compared to van gaal saying utds confidence is shattered, it may come down to the frame of mind. it really does not help with your manager coming out and saying what van gaal said.

He looked absolutely f**ked at the end before being taken off so I think it is completely unfair to say he did FA. His fitness (after malaria) was obviously an issue but to say he wasn't trying is ludicrous.

Fair enough mate. I was at the game and some idiots behind me were constantly slagging him off, rolling out the usual "he can't be bothered look at him" b**locks when it was obvious to anybody with half a brain that he was absolutely shattered. Whether that is a detriment to his levels of fitness is a different debate but to suggest he wasn't trying was really unfair.
