“We played like a team and that is important"

That for me is the key factor about the whole game. When Naughton was sent off we seemed to play even better as a unit. We rode our luck at times but a just result given the farcical penalty and sending off that will surely be overturned.

Positives were the performance or Dier, Townsend, Capoue and Rose. I would still like to see Eriksen play more in the middle and for sure we need Verts back alongside Dier in my opinion.

Hugo again was almost man of the match had it not been for Dier's all round performance on his debut. From center half to right back to goal scoring winner!. Not many have made a debut for any club and played a game like Eric did on Saturday.

Sure we looked like a team. There is a lot to come with overall play and individual performances but we looked to have the will to compete that was lacking last season when things went wrong.
