I haven't seen the match so not sure how accurate this assessment is. I'm assuming, by the comments about Lloris, that the scoreline could have been more embarrassing.

It was a performance devoid of any of the qualities required to even get a draw let alone a win.

One of the poorest performances I have seen for a long time and im not a kneejerk merchant

Watched the game ....and not read Tim's verdict.
The sending off was defo the turning point, but until then we only had a few counter attacks.....but they was battering us if honest.
Not pretty football but with that lump up front they made good of what they had and we couldn't cope with any balls aimed too him.
Hugo was Brillaint today and Eriksen showed some nice touches and played well but other than that .....the rest were poor at best.
The spammers looked like they wanted it more than us and it showed....we were gutless :(
Might have been different with 11 men but still expected better with 10 ....there was too many sloppy balls given away and first touches which were shocking ....and what really got me is how at this level of football we still have players that can only use the one leg !!!!
10,20,30,100k aweek and they can only use their left or right leg ....WTF ,Danny rose was the worse for it ....only once he showed he had a right football ,which was unlucky not to score but before that ....I swear he forgot he had a right foot.
He wasn't the only player aswell ....

The Freekick was a joke ....or more so should I say the wall ....Pauline and Ade ....I'd fine them each a weeks wages !!There is no excuse what so ever for turning like they did.
Ade at the mo aswell as seem to gone off the boil ....the one really good chance he had when it was still 11 vs 11 and I've never seen a shot hit with SOoooooo little power its untrue ....hell didn't think it was going to even reach their GK .

Can't wait for this season to be over and get someone in who can pick these players up and then clear out the ones that aren't good enough or no longer want to play for us.
I just hope Hugo stays and gives it another season because today he's the reason why this wasn't another 5,6-0 !!

Paulinho and Sigurdsson is a pretty spineless centre for an away london derby. An arrogant formation, what with playing 2 strikers as well.
We got what we deserved.

Tough to blame the formation the players just didn't stand up to be counted. It's all ifs and buts as Tim said but if we'd made it to half time level and with no red card we could have done something.

However big picture it was a fair red card and West Ham just wanted it more. We should have known all week we were going to get a long ball barrage to Carroll and prepared ourselves so we could handle it but to me I couldn't figure out how we were intending to deal with it. The boss has to take some stick for that.

Of course they wanted it more - it's their cup-final.
Knowing that, why select Sigurdsson as 1 of the midfield pair?
And if you really must do that, make sure the other is a proper DM like Sandro, not a jack of all trades like Paulinho.

But sure, the players have lost interest in this season.
If villa come with some real intent next week, then we can expect another defeat whatever the formation.

Who is going to win the ball in there Siggi or Paulinho? Or were we supposed to have the ball all the time?
The selection is to blame big time in my eyes.
