Would love to see some up to date pics of the training ground (OS are from August). SS did you say that you knew where to get a good view? If you're passing that way any chance you could take a camera?

Unfortunately everything is taking place behind hoardings, scaffolding and thick plastic sheeting!

It's good to know that the N17 studios and Co-op house are being demolished as those were 2 of the 4 bits of land we didn't own, I guess it's just the sheet metal works and the Jehovas who are holding out now, but as they are right in the middle of the new stadium footprint then they are slightly more essential. At least there is nothing stopping the supermarket going up now, which is going to be phase 1.

There are still a few buildings left in the trading estate. The plan with the JWs was to build them a new hall in the garden of one of the big houses opposite the Corner Pin, but whether they took the offer I don't know. The guy who owns Archway is holding out for big bucks, so that will have to wait for the CPO.

Probably not even clearing the land, I expect Levy's hatched some dastardly plan to dig down to the centre of the earth, reverse it's polarity using his telekinetic powers honed after fifty years training under the tibetan guru Inka Takanthaka, whom he later murdered, thus making it habitable for Martians, whose home planet, as all know, has its north pole in the south and its south pole in the north. Needless to say Levy himself is a Martian agent - their shape-shifting powers are good, but not quite good enough (look at his eyes, that baldy head!!).

Anyway I haven't any evidence for this, but a quick internet search can find no evidence confirming he is either human or from planet Earth - I'd say that settles it!

Inventive and somewhat ironic, considering it's you that's been unable to supply any corroborative evidence for the NPDT and the Dear Leader's assertions.

This seems highly unlikely to me.
Unless he's building an earth base for a Martian landing.

But wouldn't he need planning permission for that?

The OS is a better location for this in any case
better transport links into town
and he needn't rip out the running track.

Are you seriously saying you would take Stratford with a running track?

Seriously, 'seriously' doesn't apply.
But I would keep the running track
if it was going to be a Martian landing base.
and it would rule out both W.Ham and Spurs taking it over.

Could also be used for the Inter-Galactic league
which Liverpool and the usual suspects are planning.

I'm not sure where this is going.

Went over to Stratford yesterday, it's unbelievable how much it's changed in the last ten years, I came out of the station across the bridge walkway taking in a panoramic view of Canary wharf, the Shard, the City of London and beyond, past Aspers Casino next to the West Ham club shop and the vista opened to present the magnificent Olympic stadium right ahead of me; it is impressive.
I understood that the stadium was as far as we are from Seven Sisters but it is right ahead of you as you cross the bridge from the station, it really will be a magnificent venue.

Sky saying that we have now dropped our legal case.

Spurs drop stadium legal bid
Collapse of West Ham deal sees end to legal action

Tottenham has dropped its legal action over the future of London's Olympic Stadium.

The move follows the collapse of the deal to award the stadium to West Ham after the London 2012 Games.

Tottenham and Leyton Orient both lodged complaints after West Ham initially won the tendering process to take control of the Olympic Stadium following next summer's games.

After growing concerns that a lengthy courtroom battle could leave the stadium empty for years, the OPLC came to an agreement with the government and Mayor of London Boris Johnson that the ground should remain in public ownership.

It is thought a legal hearing into the matter scheduled for Tuesday will now not take place.

West Ham have confirmed they will look to lease the Olympic Stadium, but it remains to be seen if Spurs would contemplate making a bid to do the same.

Spurs, who had wanted to remove the athletics track, are currently moving forward with plans to redevelop White Hart Lane

Slightly surprised nothing on the OS about this if true.

I know nothing about the law but would it not have been worth persueing the JR if only to recover our costs from the initial bidding process? Or do we think that has been 'factored in' somwhere else?

With the result of where the 2017 World Athletics Chapionships are going to be held being announced in the next half hour or so I dont know whther I want London to be chosen or not.

1. If London is chosen it means West Ham will definitely have a running track at their ground if they move in so serves them right or

2. If Doha is chosen the OPLC will be f*cked as there will be no need for an athletics stadium that has 60000 seats.

London wins the bid.

Other than athletics, the OS could be an excellent home for a possible London franchise in the NFL.

The running track will be there whatever. That's been made a condition.

What's buggered things up is the change to the original plans for the stadium after the games. It was never the intention to keep it as a 60,000-seater or get an EPL club in; if it had been there could have been retractable seating like at the Stade Français, It was too late to do it when BoJo and the Coalition decided they would get an EPL club to take it over.

You are right SS57. Not Bojo's fault by the way. Fault of the previous players in the decision making.

I think this is a bad decision for WH as there is no way the Government/Mayor/or anyone else could possiblly decide to take away the track for quite a few years! Well Hammers enjoy watching football through binoculars in a half empty ground!

I disagree, athletics has never brought in big crowds, the world championships in munich brought in crowds of 28,000 and the last couple of stadiums for the olympics have become white elephants, so the idea of a 35,000 seater stadium was brilliant

When the stadium was built no football team wanted it, west ham fans only want to move there because they don't want us to have it, there would of been major backlash if they proposed it and we didn't want move there

Also footy/athletics stadium don't really work for me, the stad de france is still far from the pitch for me, I still think we are too far away with the new WHL, I would much prefer a bigger Juve stadium

I'd disagree. What was wrong with the original plan? Maybe it was flawed, but it would be interesting to hear a full explanation of why it was condemned as unsatisfactory. I can absolutely understand why the idea of getting an EPL club in as a partner was by far the most financially appealing solution, but whoever took the decision clearly didn't have the first clue that football and athletics tracks just don't mix, and that the mere suggestion of tearing up the track was going to infuriate the athletics lobby.

If the Dildo Brothers have any sense they'll just pull out and stay at the Boleyn. A lot of their fans were and remain very anti the move anyway.

I don't think there was an original plan, there was some bullshit cobbled together to try and portray a legacy to the IOC, but the idea that there was ever a coherent plan seems laughable to me. At least Boris forced the OPLC into trying to come up with a credible plan for the stadium, whether they have remains to be seen.

There are a few posts of Spammers forums mentioning Spurs and Wet Spam building a shared stadium elsewhere within the Olympic Park. Anyone heard anything about this?? Can see how it would make perfect financial sense to both club boards.

I'm not sure whether we ever really wanted it, used as a diversionary negotiating tactic.
In the end the riots had more effect.
Large calibre bullet dodged there .
Not even sure that W.Ham will want it now
unless somebody threatens them with money.
Well peased.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
The clue is in the title.
