The spammer average 38k,so it believable as they have heavy discounted season tickets. I think they will average about 48-50k.
For the first season.
They average what ? The Boleyn holds 35k.

The point is still the same.

£5 pound discount council tickets not withstanding of course.

They have broken the law on this. If Barry Hearn hadn't been bought off/disgusted they would be facing a lawsuit from the Orient.

not sure what should be on the link Ironskulll but it doesn't seem to be about Coe.
Strange, just checked it from here and it worked for me. In any case, it's an article from the Independent with a link to this video, which hopefully I'll manage to embed here...

I wasn't quite sure where to put this actually - his role in the OS fiasco hasn't come under much scrutiny yet and I suppose the link between this video and the stadium is tangential. Him as a prominent celebrity shareholder at Chelsea, with that club's present Russian ownership hasn't come up in either context yet...

I think thats an unfair interview. Snow knows the difference between president and a vice president in an organization like the IAAF is like that of a chairman of a football club and a scout.

Coe can only be judged in a couple of years. Although we will get an idea of what direction he is heading if he does/doesn't ban the Russians, Kenyans, Ethiopians and maybe even the Jamaicans.

Seb Coe's halo seems to be slipping. I wonder whether his part in the OS fiasco will eventually come under greater scrutiny too. http://i100.independent.co.uk/artic...ian-athletics-doping-allegations--ZJNqdWfvZKl
Seb Coe is a self-serving, arrogant cock. He was when he was competing (I met him several times) and he still is. The best solution for athletics was the club's plan regarding Crystal Palace as part of its OS bid, but - among other things - Coe's ego couldn't let it happen.

You want the power and prestige, Coe. Accept some of the responsibility that goes with it.

Are the facilities being demolished at Crystal Palace being replicated at the Olympic stadium/park?

I have no idea, but even if they are that isn't much use to the kids in south London.
But our plan was to demolish the stadium build a football stadium and develop crystal palace with world class athletics facilities and it was rejected because they said those facilities should be at Stratford, if they aren't then they have let athletics down and lied in their rejection of our application and if they lied we may have a case to claim our costs back, particularly as we were invited to apply for the stadium site.
To be honest Stratford is easier for most kids in south London to get to than crystal palace so my argument isn't that it's the wrong place I'm just not sure they are providing the facilities for them.

The CP thing has always pissed me off - Coe and everyone used to treat the place like a cathedral, it was the UK's base of operations for Athletics and has been in need of significant investment for years, then, when the Olympics is announced and there is an actual chance of building on an already well established venue, they decide, nah, fuck that place, lets go start from scratch and then hate on anyone who tries to make them acknowledge CP even still exists.

I believe the OS will be available for athletics for 1 - 2 months a year where as CP was open all year round so Coes legacy is to reduce the availability of an athletics facility from 12 months to 1 -2 months. The fact that he didn't distance himself from the company demolishing CP (the absolute minimum he should have done) says he cares more for his pocket than Athletics and this so called legacy.

I was on RAWK earlier and spotted a thread on our Stadium. Some interesting views from the scousers. The I spotted a post from a West Ham fan...

"As for West Ham we've sold 35,000 season tickets add 3-4,000 corporate all sold add 3,000 plus away & add the 5,000 approx that attend now without season tickets etc that's approx 45-46,000 attendance with capacity at 54,000 .
The novelty & maybe tourists will add some so we may not fill it every week but I see good 45,000 plus gates

Been few rumours of foreign investment lately possibly Qatari but nothing substantial . It's obvious at some point Gold & Sullivan will sell its just about when & how soon after the move"

Is he saying they've already sold 35k season tickets for next season?...seems unlikely to me...any thoughts???

I reckon they will fill quite a bit of it for the first season or two, up and around 45k on average. In 2/3 seasons once the novelty has worn off and despite them having the greatest squad they have ever had, they still wont have cracked the top 7, the novelty will wear off very quickly.
It's not Newcastle. There are far too many options for new football fans in London for unsuccessful clubs to acquire and retain massive increases in support.Even Chelsea would struggle and they have won more in the last coupld of years than West Ham have won in their entire history.

AS far as I'm aware, a significant number of the new season tickets are also being bought by neutral fans, as it's a cheap way to watch PL football in London.

Might be a good thing for WH finances, but not sure about th atmosphere.

A lot of the season tickets have been "sold" due to the +2 rule. If you are a current season ticket holder you can pay a deposit of i believe £10 for 2 more season tickets. This has led to a lot of complaints as they are sold by the bands. Band 1 almost trippled in size leading to band 2 ticket holders being pushed back and getting much worse views than they did at the boelyn. The same then happened with band 2 and pushed band 3 back etc...

How many of these new season ticket holders last more than the first season or even take up the season ticket remains to be seen.

They have done really well with the pricing though attracting a new generation of fans. Levy should take note.

I agree, how many will take up the offer, or even stick around after the first season remains to be seen.

I had a few from from south of the river who used to pick up cheap Crystal Palace season tickets for the same reason. When they eventually got promoted it was a great way to watch premier league games. They didn't stick around for very long.

But as you say, it's a great way of bringing more fans into the game. And I'd like us to do the same. Heck if there was even a £700 - £800 season ticket in our new south stand I'd snap it up.
