doubt we'd see either Verts, Demeble or Paulinho start considering they haven't played a game since coming back from the WC. I think Poch will pick Rose in front of Davis - just because of the last match. I think we'll see Kaboul alongside either Dawson or Dier . Then Naughton, Holtby, Capoue/Bentaleb, Eriksen, Lamela, Lennon and Ade... that's going on pre-season teams

im going something like the following (as i cant find the starting 11 v, Wham thread)

Hugo
Naughton Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Capoue Bentaleb
Townsend Eriksen Holtby
Ade

Should be good enough to get at least a Point.
COYS!!

Lamela will start, Townsend will not.

Dawson would be handy against those long ball merchants.

You're joking right?! I was at The Lane last season to see him personally responsible for two of their goals. He cannot play a high line. He got done for pace every time!!

I'm not joking. He and kaboul are the best centre halves we have at dealing with the hammers type of football. We need players who can out muscle Kevin Nolan et all.

The hammers will be punting endless long balls into our box, so our high line will be made redundant.

Am I the only one that's thinking it may be a good idea to introduce our World Cup participants (bar Lloris) gradually.

I'd save them for the less demanding game such as the Europa League ties, so that should give them to games where they can build there fitness up without the physical stresses of a Premier League game.

My starting team for Sat would be

Lloris, Naughton, Davies, Kaboul, Dawson, Capoue, Holtby, Lamela, Erikson, Townsend and Adebayor.

We'll need a physical presence in the line up but you just can't leave Holtby out with his preseason performances.

settle for a point against this bunch of muppets. we should be looking at a comfortable win and stamping all over this little town club and drowning them in jellied eels. just because its their FA cup final is irrelevant bury the muppets.

If you're not joking then you leave me no alternative than to accuse you of being mad sir! Do you deny that he was directly responsible for two of the three goals Spam scored at The Lane last season in the league? It happened, I was there! Everyone else at the game would concur. I rest my case...

Why is Vertongen included in everyone's line-up when the boss has stated that he won't be selected??!! I think Lloris, Lamela, Eriksen and Holtby are definite starters - Lamela to score our first of the season!!

Perhaps this is why:

"Head Coach Mauricio hasn't ruled out the chances of Nacer Chadli, Mousa Dembele, Paulinho or Jan Vertonghen ... playing a part at Upton Park"

So what. Dawson has been responsible for loads of goals we have conceded over the years, he is also our best defender of the high ball into our box.
