Backs to the wall for a while in the 2nd half, and we probably should've had the 2nd before the pressure started. Still aren't playing our best but still up near the top. We need to get the best out of Kane and not sure we are with him dropping deeper.

Lloris probably man of the match though close run with Lamela and I think has gone part of the way in redeeming himself for his early season woes. Honourable mentions to the fan fave Sissoko.

p.s. This is the first time we have won 5 London derbies in a row since 1961!! Someone tell Levy about the omen and maybe he'll open up his wallet in Jan!!

pps I can't stand the spammers.
For me its absolutely criminal to play a twice succesive golden boot winner deeper just so he can thread balls through to players with pace. Fkin daft. Everybody knows the hardest thing to do in football is score. Thats why strikers command such big transfer fees. But we have a fkin goal machine floating between midfield and the edge of the goal area setting up others. Same with England.
It makes no sense and yet here we are with one of the best goal scorers in the world... playing in'a deeper role'.
Madness.

Job done, we played well, may have had a couple more.

Looking at the WH wins this season i'll take that result any day of the week.

The way WH set up was like a home game for us. They defended deep, so anyone expecting free flowing football from us today should put this performance in perspective.

Result perfect.

Another real grind and way off our best in most facets, but squeezed out another three points and keeps us in contention right at the top. I'm not finding it great to watch right now, it does need to get quite a bit better, but we all said with all the challenges we faced at the start of the season we just needed to battle for points and stay in touch early on. We then hope history repeats itself and we kick on again as the campaign goes on.......

Fantastic win, what a result.

Don't have too much complaints about the first half, but thought we could have done with some legs in the form of Son in the second half to maintain our counterattacking threat as we were leaving a lot of it to Lucas really. Definitely think Son would have been a better option to bring on for Kane than Llorente.

Could have been better but there were still positives too, thought Winks, Lucas, Lamela and Sissoko were fantastic and it was a great win without Dembele, Eriksen, Dele or Son.

1) Been a fan far longer than you I suspect. Home and away.

2) Just have much higher standards it would seem.

3) Keep on clapping regardless.

1) if you have then you should know better than to decry a situation where our 6th choice AM option after Dele, Eriksen, Lamela, Moura and Son for 3 positions is Sissoko. The way you speak I’d have assumed you’re one of the plastics who leaves early each match.

2) My standards are perfectly fine thank you, I just believe that there is nothing constructive about failing to support one of our players, regardless of ability,

3) yes, I will keep on clapping our players so long as they give their all and our manager trusts them, as he clearly does with Sissoko regardless of our opinions. Today Sissoko played well and made our goal.

If you have been going longer than me then you’ve been going a fair while by now and therefore should be old enough not to resort to infantile comments in the tone of ‘I’ve been going longer so my opinion counts more’. You embarrass yourself.

Defensively good. Offensively poor. Yet another game, where we look cumbersome and brainless in the final third. Seems like our turgid ways is beginning to rub off on Moura now. He had some bright moments but they were few and far between. Too often he was either safe or would run into a wall.
Speaking of the latter... Kane wasn't that great today. In sum, he looked tired and leggy. Also kept on running into their players.
If we play like this against City next week, we will lose by a few goals.

All that said... A win is a win. Ugly or otherwise. Let's hope we can step it up soon.

We had chances to score more than the one. I dont think we were awful i just think we arent as fluid.
Lots of perspective needed and this isn't particularly aimed at you. But Kane played two internationals in four days last week, running his heart out, Lucas was in Saudi Arabia and with both All and Eriksen being injured you can see why our fluidity is 'off' at the moment.

This performance was always going to be on how we ground it out and how solid we remained rather than the flashy stuff. The flashy stuff will come later on, I'm sure of it.

Best ever start after nine games without even playing well and having playing two of the other three champions league sides, level with Chelsea who have been amazing apparently and only two points off the top.

How can they call it a disallowed goal just because fans and the bubble machine nonce can't concentrate. He only put the ball in the net because Hugo and Trippier saw the flag and stopped playing ffs

I agree, thats why i dont think the performance was bad - we remained resolute but a lot of what contributed to the ending could have been prevented by us finishing better eg the Davinson chance before half time... 2-0 would have been i think game over.

But

when i say we werent fluid I mean this season as a whole, and those were nothing to do with the internationals gone by recently, i just think we arent as fluid for one reason or another. I am certain it will come and for now we just need to make sure we finish our chances

The bits I saw of Dembélé playing were sad, because it was like seeing a once great boxer being shoved around by an opponent with only an ounce of his talent.

And Lucas was lucky to get back from Saudi Arabia in one piece.
