Best ever start after nine games without even playing well and having playing two of the other three champions league sides, level with Chelsea who have been amazing apparently and only two points off the top.

The rest of the league should be seriously worried what will happen when we click into gear

Been seriously average so far this season and we're third. *shrugs*

There was a 5-6 minute stretch where we passed the ball in the midfield and didn't even attempt to drive forward and get a second goal. The team seemed content holding on to the 1-0 lead for whatever reason and that infuriated me.

We were hardly awful mate. Wise up

I think we absolutely were. No lines, noone breaking through there midfield only passning sideways or the odd long ball. We do not connect between midfield and forwards, and our wing backs were lost. Toby, Lloris and Lamela were good and Lucas at times but when he did go on his runs noonelse got into any positions for him to play to. I did not see any structured play or clear intentions at all today. We grinded it out and that was impressive, I love that we now win games we do not play good in.

21 points from 9 games, 6 of which away, with a knackered team with loads of injuries
at the moment doesnt matter how we win, just getting job done
great result

The bits I saw of Dembélé playing were sad, because it was like seeing a once great boxer being shoved around by an opponent with only an ounce of his talent.
Then you missed his first action when he has to catch Antonio down the wing by changing gears and taking the ball off him after about 30 yards. He had some good bits but he also seemed as discombobulated by Poch's sub as everyone else and his role.

We held on to win. It's sometimes important to slow the game down when you are under the cosh. It's the sign of a mature team.

By and large a mixed bag in here , West ham aint just gonna lie down and let us force our will on them in their cup final , we should remember that the euro league must have taken a fair bit mentally if not physically esp the likes of winks ,moura back from Brazil i thought we were very good first haft and defended well the second and won where both man u and chelsea have not ,

Actually, that was the bit I was mainly referring to.

We do seem to hypnotise ourselves with possession for the sake of possession. What really winds me up are the first time backward passes when the player is in loads of space and clearly hasn't even attempted to look behind himself to see if he can turn on the ball.

I'm happy with the win though and don't mind winning ugly away from home and that second half was ugly. I missed the first half completely. Now the dust has settled, what are people's thoughts on how we played in the first half?

We're not even playing well yet we sit 3rd and very much in the title race as of now. Not all shit and misery as some have made out this season
