Today's performance is what we should have done against Juve after they scored at Wembley. I think this is a sign that poch is learning to be pragmatic when it matters. Whilst it was one of the ugliest Spurs wins I've ever watched, it was a win nonetheless. Nothing else matters.

Apart from Hugo and Lamela, no one really deserves mention - a positive one that is.

A bit harsh on the rest of the team by the sounds of it (to me). I did miss the game but to nullify a very up-for-it wet spam can't be easy. Heard Winks did well...

Reo Coker was co-commentating on radio 5 this afternoon and in his summing up he described it as a professional performance by Spurs, when West Ham got up a head of steam the Spurs midfield took control of the ball and controlled the pace of the game, Spurs didn't go gung ho for another goal but made sure of the win.
Now I didn't see the game nor hear more than ten minutes of it but that sounds like quite a good write up to me.

That's how I see it too. When Ali comes back he too needs to show such sensible maturity.

You can't win a game like that without the whole team contributing.

Perhaps it was due to my expectations. But we could and should have lost. Arnautovic had 3 dead certs and had it not been for Hugo, we would have been embarrassed. Apart from the goal, we only really had a Kane half chance to speak of.

You need to curb your expectations a bit mate.
If you really thought we were going to smash them in a match they're always bang up for, after they spent 100m in the summer, whilst 5 of our first team are out injured, then you're not really thinking it through.

Most encouraging performance of the season for me, felt like a transitional game as we begin to step up to our higher standard. LLoris was superb, Winks was great and he's improving so much each game, Dier was solid was his best game of the season. Sissoko; Whilst I don't rate him as a footballer you can't deny how effective he has been in last couple of games, Poch is getting the most out of his limited skillset and fair play to Moussa for playing well. Thought Lamela was motm and his hold up play was excellent, Dribbling was superb and Moura great dribbling also.

Lot's of encouraging performances and a good start to a tough run.

We *could* have lost, but I definitely don't agree that we *should* have. We had enough clear chances to finish them off before they rallied. Sanchez had two massive chances that unfortunately fell to him instead of someone who knows how to score goals.

Glad I wasn’t watching that! Result all that matters in a game like this, but performances have to improve if we are going to do anything this season.

There’s only so long a team can play poorly and get results. At least we are getting injured players back.

Despite what a lot of fans think of him we miss Alli quite badly imo.

I don't think we were poor. It was always a tough place to go. I'd like to see the pre match betting odds but I don't think they would have leaned to a win for us. We didn't allow them to get on top of us really apart from our mistakes (Trippier). Yes it was nervy at the end but I thought we defended them well and didn't allow them a lot. A game like that is fascinating for the neutral if you ask me because its tight and not one sided and a moment of brilliance usually decides it.

Yes most of their chances came late on when we tried keeping what we had which can go against you sometimes but on this occasion we got the tactics and job done right at our best we would have won by more.
