Generally speaking, what do you reckon is our best front four?

Here’s mine:

Kane
Alli-Eriksen-Lamela

Moving around throughout the game.

Kane
Son Alli Eriksen

Proved over a long period that they've been our best.

No idea it changes every week. But great to have 6 top quality players scrapping for 4 places. That’s the competition we need. With so many games I think poch will constantly rotate.

Kane
Lucas Dele Eriksen

Thus far I have been very unconvinced buy those four as a unit. I think it will take a while before Son is fit enough to be a starter and needs to be managed. Lamela and Dele linked excellently today so I would stick with that for the next few games. Lucas is a tricky one and I’m not really sure who I would drop for him. I do think Lamela deserves a few consecutive starts in the PL now.

You’ve forgotten Sissoko.

Oh, you mean top quality. Ok then , as you were.

Prefer the interchange of:
Kane

Ali - Lamela

Eriksen
Than the wide forward play of:
Moura - Kane - Son

Eriksen

Don't get me wrong they all have a place and it would be harsh on Moura but the three up top just doesn't sit well with me and really doesn't get the best out of Kane (shattered or not)

He's been a passenger in a three for England and Spurs for a while now, and while a lot of that may be down to fitness issues it's no coincidence that he looked his best for a while in the last 20 minutes today, also Alli and Lamela are better narrow AM's than stuck wide.

I love Eriksen but I've been a bit disappointed with him so far this season.

I guess you just expect so much from him that when he's a little under par you really notice.

When he's at his best we always look a really fluid attacking side.

When he's off it we labour. And we've done lots of labouring so far this season.

But we've great attacking options. People talk about a lack of depth, we're stacked in attacking positions.

It's having a cultured CM. That's what we lack. Hopefully Winks develops into one.

When we play teams outside the top 4 i’d play Eriksen deeper alongside one of our DCMs (Wanyama/Dembele/Dier) and the play Dele, Lamela and one of Son or Moura behind Kane:

Kane
Son/Moura Dele Lamela
Eriksen
Rose —-— DCM—-—Trippier
Vertonghen Aldereiweld
Lloris
Against top teams I’d play the extra CB and with our 3 AMs helping our DCM to dominate the middle:

Kane
Dele Eriksen Lamela
Rose——DCM——Trippier
Vertonghen Sanchez Alderweireld
Lloris

it is our current conundrum We are not as fluid as we have been. The front four will change depending on game and form It is currently a dilemma

I like Lucas but feel he and Kane have not worked each other out yet so that impedes attacking flow.

I think Lamela has earned an opportunity so would like to see him start. On balance Eriksen with Dele have been the most potent with Sonny coming on as a sub to inject pace. But this is the old Spurs that sides are working out.

Maybe we should try

Kane
Dele Lamela Lucas and see how we fair ( I guess Poch sees that in training but we dont know if its effective) but I would ask Lamela to look at moving the ball quickly more often and only hold on to it 1 in 5 times to attack the opposition

Kane
Lucas Alli Lamela
And I would have when fit Wanyama and Eriksen in the CM role. The 3 behind kane can all rotate between them and be effective and would press more higher up like we used to do IMO.

Cannot believe anyone suggesting we drop Eriksen - maybe our most important player and our only genuinely world-class attacking midfielder.

Full strength is Kane, Alli, Eriksen and Son though it is great to have Lamela and Moura on par with them.

Guess Kane and Eriksen are the only two assured of starting unless truly out of form.
