Maybe start riding the tube to see if you can catch Levy and start asking him questions about transfers:

Levy's like "... 'sake... first time I get the tube in yonks, cause bloody Dave crashed the Bentley, and I get accosted by some ginger hipster and his selfie stick..."

First bold bit - this is a popular opinion but it's objectively untrue. We consistently bring in 3-5 players in a summer window and a single one without any transfers doesn't suddenly change the rule.

Second bold bit - you admit in the next paragraph that you have your "negative cap on" but I still think that, out of two news reports, you've chosen to believe the negative one simply because it fits your already decided position. BBC said £53m, Spanish source says £35m. Most likely reason for the disparity? We made an opening bid consisting of £35m up front + £18m add-ons - hardly derisory.

Oh, and Son has shown time and time again that he is our (more than) adequate cover for Kane.

With regards to bringing in 3-5 players each summer, those players are always "potential" players, or players that are squad players. We never go out and buy what is needed.

Lo Celso is the only player that has been "confirmed" that we have bid for. I say confirmed with a pinch of salt.
I could go back through each transfer window and give you examples of others.
I'm not slating Levy, hes been awesome for this club and I like the way that he does things.
The point I'm making is that people are suddenly expecting him to change his ways and buy multiple players at high prices, I just cant see it I'm afraid

It's interesting. I think we'll see a 'potential' player in the £20m-ish bracket. But I also think we could see two signings of £50m or above, which would be a first for us. I don't think that will be about Levy changing his ways. It'll simply be about what the club need and can reasonably do. I think Levy will consider it quite reasonable actually, given no player outlay for 18 months and increased revenue on top of potential player sales. He's smart and will appreciate the visibility of the club right now. Capitalising on that with a couple of key signings which also address weaknesses in the squad is the best of both worlds.

One thing I'm interested in is what extra payments to players and other clubs will be triggered by reaching the Champions League final.
Decent amount outgoing or nah cos we didn't win it?

Levy's one and only way is to grow the club year on year.
TV revenue is maxxed out (although the same for all our domestic rivals).
Matchday revenue will be maxxed out with the new stadium.
So that only leaves commercial revenue to grow.

As commercial revenue is linked with success on the pitch it's common sense to assume a single big investment in young playing staff to produce 4 or 5 years of continued/improved success to increase our sponsorship/commercial deals.
It's no different to any other company taking a hit on a year or two's profit by investing in R&D or sales in order to grow their business long term.

So it's not a question of Levy changing his ways just changing the focus of the business.
