. If you are happy to lose 20 games a season go free. It's not a fun watch.

You appear to be blaming the defense for our defeats.

A bigger problem is the fact that we’re scoring fewer goals, and particularly fewer early goals.

This gives the opposition the chance to nick a win which much of the time would have been impossible if we’d built a comfortable lead like we were doing in the previous 2 or 3 seasons. It gives them heart and puts us under pressure. It directly affected lots of games this season.

Even when you do look at the defensive stats, you seem to be ignoring the significant facts behind them.

@Trix - I’ve followed your posts, this is not meant to be an against the rules asking a question of an ITK, it’s more your opinion. I see you’ve bemoaned in the past that over the last 18 months or so we seem to stopped the high intensity press that we were so good at the years Leicester and Chelsea won the PL. It only now appears sporadically but seems to coincide with our better performances.

I just wonder why do you think Poch has seemingly moved away from that in a way Klopp hasn’t?

I can’t be that we have different players (Dembele aside). Might be that by and large we have much more of the ball than most teams but we don’t seem to press like we did against City and Liverpool when we smashed them both a few seasons ago.

Klopp has moved away from the high intensity press, Liverpool don't press as much as they used to when he first came in, part of the reason why is because they fell away in the latter part of the season in 2016/17 because they were tired.

Lions shares of posession but ive never seen us play like this

Everytime its like watching 10 people scratching their head and deciding what to eat for lunch

mate when do you see the opposition give us that amount of space, plus it looks like someone has speeded it up

no he is specifically putting the blame on Sanchez, must be hard watching football in the middle of the desert (especially for someone that watches every game) with the odd sand storm:cautious:

the poster doesn't have a clue, and has gone very quite after Mr Clueless here proved he is below me(y)

I know you asked trix but i can give my opinion.
Whl was 6m shorter than both wembley and the new stadium.
This meant that we could press high with less worry of being caught on the counter.
Toby and verts aren't the quickest players. When we played at wembly in the cl, you could see they struggled if caught on the break. I believe this was part of the reason we brought in sanchez as his extra pace helped out. It's also why we sometimes went 3 at the back.

We stay proud of what we have achieved this Season, 0 money spent, Top 4 Club and a Champions League final appearance , I could not be more proud of my childhood club, now we have to get in some fresh blood and get rid of some stale players, players who are not good enough, RB for Trippier or Aurier hopefully both but I won't hold my breath, ST/CF to push Kane, but I would also like a CM in and an Attacking player in the mold of a Hazard who can take on a Defense , change the game when we need.

How can Kane need someone to 'push' him when Moura scores a hat trick in a CL semi final and then has to relinquish his place to a returning from injury Harry ?? Just exactly how hard do you need to push ???
That was a decision that still leaves a bitter taste....

especially in 2012 when we had Bale, Modric, VdV and Lennon

Even now, we put together some really good moves

Goal against Brighton - Lamela scored
Goal against Huddersfield - Davies scored
Goal against Everton at Wembley - Eriksen scored

Etc...

A good Striker always needs some other player to push them so that they bring out the best in the Main Striker, Moura not starting in the CL finals was a Pochettino mistake ..
Mate it hurts me aswell more than you know but I am over it, more mistakes to come.

But as for Harry Kane I would think that another person behind him to "push" him would help us more than hurt us.

Luka Jovic could not rest on his Laurels because Sebastian Haller would not let him.

It's something that needs addressing for next season....Harry just cannot expect to saunter back into the team after injury, especially following such great performances in recent matches during his absence. I don't know if it's Poch scared to upset the lad and risk losing him or Harry's ego demanding feeding....I have a suspicion it's more the former than the latter. Whatever it is it needs sorting out because no one will want to be in Moura's position....or deserves to be.

I don’t think it’s either.

I just think Harry is incredibly enthusiastic and motivated, and really believes he’s ready to play as soon as he feels physically fit, and that Pochettino has a huge amount of confidence in him.

Then in that case he needs 'reining in' a little by Poch, who needs to temper his confidence in him with caution and wise judgement....taking into account other team member's feelings also.Maybe the CL final will have taught both of them a salutory lesson...hope so.
I really did feel sorry for Moura that night.....as much as I love Harry he should have been on the bench

I understand your points and agree with some. Thing is, it’s not like Lucas was absolutely ripping games apart during Harry’s absence. It was one game basically.

If Harry is declared fit, he starts. It’s that simple. He’s the best striker in the world.
The argument I see is whether he should have been declared fit. Imo he wasn’t fit enough to play any part. He was a week too soon ( I thought he looked much sharper last night for example )

The rest will do him good. Avoid injury next season, drop a couple of pounds over the summer and he’ll score 40+ in all comps.

I get the feeling that Kane is the type of person who yes emotionally is very level headed and doesn't get too up or too down but I get the feeling he will have taken the past weeks defeats for Spurs and England very personally, I get the feeling that disappointment is what fuels him and I reckon he will win PFA player of the year next season.

Sadly for him despite numerous semi finals and two cup final appearances he has yet to win anything for club or country, so can only assume he must be feeling pretty fucked off wondering if it will ever happen for him at any level.

I doubt very much if he is one to sit and dwell and feel sorry for himself.
It’s clear he is as mentally strong as they come and is fiercely determined. The reason he is such a great player is down to his drive and ambition to be the very best he can be.
He’ll be fine and if anything it’ll spur him on.

I don't doubt he is determined but hitting his peak and still not won a sausage.

As fans all we can do is sit back & pray, Preparing for another long summer ahead is more then likely given the way we operate & i don't see that changing.

We just have to hope we can get some players in this time round, no matter how late it is !

Don't think anyone will be in for pre season training more likely during it.
