According to Redcafe, it's inhumane not to sell a player that wants to leave for a bigger better club and have the opportunity to further their careers....... God I hate the money clubs and their fans!

Until one of theirs wants to leave, at which point they're a 'mercenary' and money is killing the game. It's called hypocrisy.

From Arsemania:

I find it interesting that Spurs lack of transfer activity has gone under the radar. They apparantly don't need to improve their squad when all the teams around them are improving theirs. Their coach is so good that their brand of football will surpass any other football being played. They haven't spent because they can't. They can't afford to because they are building a new stadium. They pay low wages because they can't afford to pay higher ones. They won't win anything because they simply are not good enough. They are not mentally strong enough and they do not have world class players to compete with the other big clubs.

I think it was Keown who said they are 10 years behind Arsenal. I think it's more. Remember when we played our Champions League games at Wembley? Remember in 2008 when we went on a spree of selling all of our players because of a wage structure and stadium move. Anyone who thinks Spurs are not going to struggle in the next 5 years are seriously deluded.

The difference between us and them, apart from the obvious, is we are acting no different to we ever have in our transfers. For years we have spent within our means, net spend etc etc
We are better than we were so inevitably it is harder for us to sign better or equal players, hence it takes longer.

If people seriously think we won't spend they are nothing short of insane.

Lets revisit this comment at the end of the window!
Arsenal fan genuinely concerned. We have a plan, they dont

When I see a player transferred that could make our 1st team at a price that we could afford then I'll start to pay notice....... Otherwise, chill

How can we comfortably finish above them, yet be 10 years behind them?

Allways liked the Villa fans' sense of humour:):-
"Well it's obvious isn't it, Pochettino only lets his youngsters go on loan to bigger Clubs than Spurs"

We're actually starting to get quite a bit of coverage with our lack of activity so far this window. I think it started as a bit of a snigger and dig, but is now starting to feel like something other clubs are getting slightly concerned about.

If we manage to sustain this model of buying and playing young talent, paying relatively lower wages while developing a great team ethic and carrying it into the new stadium, then surely that should be the model of all the other aspiring clubs out there. It would set a blueprint that should absolutely shame the shit out of those who just buy the most expensive talent around and wanting instant trophies for it. Leicester did it brilliantly, but completely unsustainably, while we just keep on climbing.

It's becoming very clear that our philosophy is not to just spend more money than anyone else. There will always be the next, even richer billionaire who comes along and wahey! A new mega club! But, its just an ever increasing pit of cash that I don't see Levy throwing a lot of his profits into. Can you blame him when Neymar is worth nearly a quarter of a billion pounds?!?!

The more I see how and what we're doing here, as opposed to what a clubs like City, PSG, Chelsea and Madrid are doing, I honestly couldn't think of a club I'd rather support more than Spurs. We might not have all the bling, but I don't think anyone can accuse us of lacking in substance and style, so it's no surprise we're raising a few eyebrows and probably quite a few envious ones too.

I think we're also getting a lot of affection from some of the neutral and more moderate fans at other clubs, as we seem to be seen as somewhat of an exemplar of what and how a proper club should be run. I think an awful lot of fans are fed up with the money clubs ripping the heart out of football, and would be keen on us to show that it can still be done organically (and just want the cash to be shown up).

We got a good team, and a great manager, but I don't think any other club is looking at our transfer activity as something to aspire to.
I don't want to spend more money than anyone else, but not bringing in any players for preseason because our chairman is frugal as fuck is nothing to shout about imo.
I need the buzz of a new signing. To me this transfer window has been a huge let down, and even if we bring in players from here on out, missing out on a Poch pre-season is huge.
I still think most clubs are laughing at our transfer activity, or lack there of.

Bloody 'ell as like!

I thought we finished four places above them last season...I didn't realise they were so much better that they were lapping us :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

Okay, you guys are spending way too much time of rawk I presume. THFC is doing nothing more than spending within its means and being financially sound, but you guys are making it sound as if we're writing the path of enlightenment or some shit like that for other clubs that don't have the money of the big boys.

Worst thing is, we've seen this club is actually willing to spend around 30 millions in single purchases... but for some reason our chairman likes to wait until the end of the window to part with the money, and as a result we end up with the likes of sissoko...

I'm sure fans of other clubs love us because of that...

I guarantee we will spend money so we shouldn't paint this picture, the media haven't anything better to do but stir up stories. We all know whats going to happen its our policy to bid late and thats whats going to happen.

You know that, I know that but others have very short memories and very wet y-fronts.
