The grass is always greener to some of our fans. They look at other teams spending money and get jealous. What they don't think is would any of those signings get in our starting 11 or even our squad?

Got a good mate who's a Liverpool wind up merchant and very RAWK-ish in his viewpoints. He always gives it the Billy big bollox in pre-season (it's their year, Henderson is the best midfielder in the league, Coutinho the best player, Klopp the best manager, Liverpool don't even consider us a threat), but usually goes quiet about November (it's getting earlier and earlier).

He was fucking giving it when we lost to Chelsea and I've kept my own counsel cos revenge is best served unexpectedly.

We're at a music festival today and i didn't mention a thing. I then brought up what band and where you'd like to see them if you could see anyone anywhere. Went round the group, got the usual answers then said 'For me, it'd have to be Five at The Etihad'.

Take that your fucker! You should have seen his little face! Well worth the wait...COYS!

I am not so sure he will leave. He obviously loves the club and i think we will always make sure we look after him.

One way to compensate for our inability to pay the market rate ( we will never be able to pay the rate of gov't sponsored teams even with the new stadium ) is to set up a proper pension fund for him so that he could be paid a reasonable pension for at least 35? years after his retirement.

He will end up leaving eventually and I don't think we should begrudge him when he does but I think he'll do it after breaking Spurs records and yeah, for an enormous fee.

It'll be in a few years so who knows what prices will be like then

Brave call, that I think is likely, personally see him at 29 moving to Bayern for £150m, after winning the Prem, Champions League and FA Cup here.

Wouldn't begrudge him in those circumstances.

I don't disagree which is why I always maintained that the Everton hype was overblown.

I would say we spent more, comparatively, but overall seem to have bought better, although you wouldn't have said that about us a while back. So jury's out but yeah, I don't get excited by their signings certainly.

I just think their splurge went more under the radar as everyone else has gone mental too, whereas ours stood out more at the time.

Yeah, the exact figures that we may have comparably spent if we had spent in the same market I guess isn't massively relevant. Especially as even if you take out 3 of our signings in Chiriches, Capoue and Chadli you still have Soldado, Lamela, Paulinho and Eriksen, 4 signings that at the time looked very good and promising which is more than you can say about Everton's signings.

Thing is it looks like they've gone backwards and that's not even just due to Lukaku. I was much more fearful of them when seeing their lineup with players such as Miralles, Delefaou, Barkley and even McCarthy, Barry etc.

Not something I want to happen, obviously. But the game's the game.

Fair play if he stays at Spurs, will be an absolute legend if he does, although he's going to end up being one even if he doesn't. As I say, just look at the timeframe. He could easily do another three years, do the decade, break all the Spurs records he needs to, see us into the new stadium AND leave with a healthy amount of his career left, while allowing the club to benefit from the proceeds of his sale when he goes.

Going by departures over recent years he's much more likely to sign for Hull

Does this guy thinks Tottenham still finish 5th in the table?

Anyway can someone who speaks German translate this?

google translate is interesting! :D

I can not understand how everyone in front of the tables of the Premier League so in the pants. So little opinion from our team? I almost feel like the Germans, with the exception of the Bavarians, always creep in front of every opponent in the Champions League.

We do not play here against Manchester United, Real Madrid or FC Barcelona.

In this general assessment, it is not the case that the Germans have not played any role in EL and with the exception of Bayern in the Champions League for decades

Loosely translated, it says "I'm an ignoramus who hasn't watched (English) football in donkey's years". Hopefully, he'll be in for a rude awakening...

Every decision that they so much as consider having gone against them gets booed, every single one. They're a horrible lot.
It's called being a good fan and creating an atmosphere that makes the ref think twice about giving anything marginal. Always shocks me when we moan about other fans supporting their team and booing anything that goes against you.

I've always had a respect for Everton. Fans fill the stadium every week and make it a good atmosphere. Never had loads of money to punt around and generally (apart from away against us) play decent football.

I disagree, standards of reasonableness need to be applied, otherwise it's just irritating, and lessens the impact of booing an actual wrong decision.

It's not being a good fan, that's nonsense.
They do it for every decision, marginal or not.
If anything the ref is going to be less likely to be affected by it as it'll make him look weak and easily swayed.
It's ridiculous and annoying, that's what it is.

Pickford and Siggurdson are decent players. Give them time and I'm sure they will be effective. The problem comes when you want to finish above 7th. Arse could be overtaken but they need to spend a lot more to catch up with us and the others.

There's a fine line. I remember going to goodison a few years ago when Lloris collided with Lukaku and ended up being stretchced off with concussion. Even when he was being carried off the Everton fans were still booing the decision/Lloris thinking he was exaggerating the extent of his injury.
