No, there was no fuss at all about it at all.

Boo hoo, a lady said a mean thing based on a reputation we've had for the last decade, at least Spurs fans reacted with measure and balance and didn't flood her social media feed with misogynistic abuse and vitriol because they're thin skinned toddlers.

Other clubs that people say players might leave to win things in the last two years.

-Liverpool
-Everton
-Arsenal
-Man Utd
-Every club in the country other than Chelsea or Man City

We will agree to disagree on this then

Was looking for what Apoel fans were saying about us, only to remember midway I don't actually understand that Cypriot (Greek?) alphabet. :D

It's more the fact that she replied to a West Ham fan on her Twitter, who tweeted her something like "Daaan't worry baaat all these Yid ****s dey just mad 'cos dey shit innit you's well fit show us yer bewbs luv", by saying that she and her studio team had been "jumping up and down celebrating the West Ham goal".

Not exactly professional for an apparent neutral tv presenter? That's ignoring the incredibly stupid/inaccurate/childish/unprofessional use of the "total bottle job" phrase in the face of all the evidence.

She's a United fan (apparently) from Essex, who knows nothing about the game, decided she wanted a career outside of adding up and wearing dresses on an afternoon quiz watched by students and retirees, got herself a football presenting job at Sky with absolutely zero qualifications for the role, and then proved she was completely not up to the job.

I'm glad she lost her job, it was all on her. She was a silly twat.

Liverpool- What pundits, journalists etc were suggesting Coutinho "needed" to leave to win things?

Everton - Are you fucking serious? We're talking top 6 here, don't move the goalposts.

Arsenal - Covered this one. Speculation was that he might leave, no pundits or journalists suggested he "needed" to leave to win honours.

Man Utd - Which of their top stars have pundits/journalists been suggesting need to leave?

The above questions are rhetorical by the way, the answer is none.

So, of the top 6, only one team has had a constant barrage of pundits/journalists touting them to every big name they can think of.

You'd have seen this too if you hadn't, you know... Ostrich.

Which players/pundits? Don't recall anyone saying Coutinho had to leave Liverpool (in fact the difference between the media approach to Coutinho/Barcelona was in stark contrast to that of Van Dijk/Liverpool), but given they made several bids throughout the summer transfer discussion is obviously going to happen.

Similarly, the Sanchez (and to a lesser extent Ozil) talk has all be about them leaving because Arsenal would only pay them £200k a week rather than £300k.

There's been some (very little) mention that Rashford might leave if he didn't get much playing time once Man Utd resigned Ibrahimovic, but nothing about winning things. Which is partly justified given they won two trophies last season, but then ever since Mourinho went there the media have been lining up in a massive circle jerk to see who can give them the title first.

On the other hand it's pretty clear that the likes of Kane and Alli aren't going anywhere in a hurry (not least given the complete lack of actual transfer offers) but seemingly every fucking week there's some pillock insisting they have to leave.

I must have imagined Rachel Riley calling us legends at the back end of last season or the constant need for pundits to say our players need to leave to win something or get paid what they should.

Can you stop being mean about Rachel Riley please. You have to stop. I love her

Rachel Riley yeah you would wouldn't you
I don't really buy into the anti Spurs thing but I don't think I ever heard a commentator say oh no as a team score a last minute winner like the Stalteri one

Except for Liverpool, the other 4 teams have won a trophy in the last 2 years, so they aren't going to say they need to leave to win something. Even then Liverpool overpay their players, so they won't get mentioned for players needing to leave to get paid more. Apparently Coutinho is on 200k a week compared to Kane on 100k a week and Eriksen is on 80k. Liverpool pay Coutinho, Salah, Firmino, Sturridge, Mane, Milner, Henderson & Wijnaldum more than we pay Eriksen and from that list only Wijnaldum and Mane get less than Kane,

Found this little gem on twitter from an Apoel fan

Ηντα εγω σκεφτουμαι να φορησω φανελλα της Chelsea για να πικκαρω τους οπαδους της Tottenham...

Translates “I’m thinking of wearing a Chelsea shirt to wind up the Tottenham fans”

I hope we smash these peasants into next year as I fucking can’t stand this team.

I actually worked with Rachel Riley on a pilot for a tech TV show once, about 5 years ago
She was very nice, very personable, very professional, very attractive, but knew nothing about tech.

That wasn't even factored into the equation tho - the industry thinking being you were a presenter first, then you were given your subject matter. She had a script written for her and took take after take after take to get stuff right, whereas our regular YouTube presenter was nailing it every first or second take, and writing scripts. Rachel said she couldn't believe how good our regular presenter was.

Fast forward six months, the sponsor hasn't picked up the show, but Riley is signed up for the Gadget Show, so clearly the tech experience hadn't been wasted. Our amazing script writing, take-nailing presenter? Not so much. It was the most obvious case I've ever seen of face fitting/playing the game over know-how/quality.

I think with the football stuff, she over reached. She treated it as another presenting gig, and actually it's more loaded than that - right or wrong - and you get found out, whereas the Gadget Show viewing crowd aren't real tech experts, its families, so you can get away with it. I also don't think she got the severity of the bottle job comment as she's clearly not really into football, just as she wasn't into tech - she just parrots what people tell her/write for her. Other presenters are the same, and get just as much abuse, but it became more highlighted because women presenters are still a minority and men hating on women is never a good look for anyone.

However you can never condone the abuse she got. Completely uncalled for. As it is for most presenters - I got caught up in Lineker's Twitter replies the other day and it's insane the barrage of hate he prompts. Twitter asked me for the first time ever if I wanted a post filter

Not much from Cyprus but the Terriers are barking ahead of the weekend...

They seem like a grounded bunch of fans with a sense of humour to boot:

Will be very interesting to say the least. There are half a dozen teams in this league who can take anybody apart on their day. Spurs are one of them. Hope on Saturday night we hear the usual.."And our final game tonight would have been Tottenham. Unfortunately, Spurs had an off-day today, really poor game to watch. So that's it for tonight, don't forget to tune in tomorrow night for MOTD 2. Goodnight and thanks for watching. Oh...Huddersfield are up to fourth.."

I'd take a 'run of the mill' win for Spurs, 1-0 or 2-0. They're one of the teams in this league that are capable of hitting us for 5 or 6, just hope it doesn't happen. Mind you, play at our maximum and I reckon we would steal something, as unlikely as it appears

Stick a fiver on Huddersfield or Draw, instead of buying a half time pie, the end result will be the same.

Disappointment.

Arguably the toughest opponents we will face outside of Manchester clubs this season. Aim to frustrate and hope for a slice of luck. Not expecting anything but as long as we give a good account of ourselves and don't give them too much respect I won't be too hard on our players. Maybe seeing Deli Ali looking a bit of a cock after an air shot or something to brighten up the afternoon.

Looking forward to this game immensely, although I think we will be lucky to get a point. Every time I have watched Spurs this season Kane has hit the post with a thunder bolt. lets get some more paint on the sticks and hope it stays that way.

Spurs will be a big task on Saturday against us. But I'm hoping Pochettino puts out his strongest side on Tuesday night v Nicosia, and that they're then made to work harder for a result against the Cypriots than they anticipate. Even if that were the case, he'd still be able to take a decent team to Hudds. But you never know, if we can contain them for an hour, then they may tire and be there for the taking with our super fitness.
Bottom line is though that anything from this game would be a real bonus.

No limits, go for the win Town. Upsets happen. If Town go in with the aim of not losing, we will.

Very hard game, they have been scoring for fun away.
Can't see anything beyond a defeat

IMO Ali Kane Eriksen the most potent strikeforce in the prem. Say a prayer.
