Chelsea fa cup last season

That wasn’t a spanking though. We went 1-0 down pulled it back to 1-1 then 2-1 down at HT pulled it back to 2-2 then conceded 2. That was, for the most part, an evenly contested game.

Actually, I could see something similar happening against city. 3-2 or 4-2 to either team.

I would be sorely tempted to put foyth in as a dm in this game with dembele and 1 of winks or alli in front of him and just a 3 man attack of son Eriksen and kane and play on the counter like we did at madrid
That way we hopefully don't get our pants pulled down and may get a break away on the counter.

Just want us to compete and give them a really tough game and not embarrass ourselves.

Foyth in midfield at Man City?? That’s hilarious.

We were in the ascendancy during the match just prior to that fucking penalty winning dive by Moses when Sonny went low to the ground but didn't touch him.

Yeah, play a midfielder in midfield and not a young defender who is new to the premier league .

Plenty on here said that about dier did ok though
Its a defensive position he is defence minded he is also quite comfortable on the ball plus he is never going to adjust to the prem until he starts playing in it !
He is a footballer and football is what he gets paid for winks is not a dm dembele is a shade of his former self maybe you would put sissoko there ?
After all he has played football before

At least you got your cheap laugh on that one :cautious:

Foyth has played one game in England, where we conceded 3 goals in 15 minutes to the mighty west ham. Are you insane?

Of course I'm fucking insane I'm typing this behind my back as I'm in a straight jacket

So foyth was the reason we lost to West ham ?
Had nothing to do with the entire team and poch throwing in the towel At half time ?

How long does he need to be here before he is regarded by you two experts as a actual footballer?
I have already explained my train of thought ee do not have a defensive minded or capable cm it' not like typing it slower is making it easier to understand ;)

Caught a bit of talksport yesterday and a guy called in, a mancunian, and he was saying that City will win the league and then went on to say the other top five teams need to spend some money and raise their game.
Oh by the way, he listed the other four top five sides, guess who he didn't include? Yep you guessed it!

Whether he can or can't, away to Man City is NOT the game to suddenly try it in.

Thought that was our motto ?

The point I'm trying to make is we already know winks can' t do it and it's not looking like dembele can so the other cm option is sissoko

We really don't have a lot to loose here with expectations at 0
All I said was I would think about it as a option it could work it could be a disaster (although I doubt it would be)

on a Palace forum, a few of them have been saying Alli dived. A selection:

'Interesting listening to ex pros talk about dives for penalties......if he feels contact he has the right to go down...ffs no wonder it's rife in the game. I hear RLC may have dived for our pen....if true hope he gets 2 game ban. It's pathetic.
The way I see it....forwards can now run in to defenders to get a penalty. It's the same as when a player pushes the ball past an opponent then runs into him and get a a free kick. What is the opponent supposed to do? Disappear. Fair enough if he move to block him but often they don't move and a player is entitled to stand his ground....Fouls given when a player makes no attempt to play the ball and opponent comes in over back of him should go to the player who didn't jump but it doesn't it goes the other way for some odd reason'

(RLC = Ruben Loftus Cheek)

and a reply: 'Just goes to show how many ex pros are unthinking morons. Not sure why anyone with a genuine interest in the game wants to condone players conning referees and winning games by cheating.

Case in point, Deli Alli - shouldn’t even be on the ground.'

and another:
'Anyone else think Dele Alli going to get retrospective action for that dive for the pen? Bet it gets overlooked.

Hate Spurs. Vile team.'

To be honest, I'd prefer it if there needed to be a foul to award a penalty instead of the slightest brush. I always ask 'would that have won a free kick anywhere else on the pitch?' It's too ingrained in the game now for much to be done and Refs never give a penalty if a player stays on his feet. Harry Winks would have got one v City if he'd gone sprawling but he stayed on his feet and didn't cheat and it's a shame it's come to that.

that's the problem, isn't it. Try to play on when fouled and don't get the decision, sell the foul to make sure you do, or just plain cheat.

Just see how the BBC's match report covered Alli (there's a thread on the front page here) and you get the feeling that for some players it is an uphill battle. MOTD's commentary of Alli's challenge yesterday was over the top, and when they go to Murphy in the studio he downplays it completely. Now he may be booted all over the pitch and not get the fouls he deserves just because the refs have it in the back of their mind that he might have dived. Bale had the same thing. Would be nice if things were fairer or clearer, but unfortunately the refs aren't always up to dealing with fast play in real time.

it's not hard to understand. attacker get to ball before dfender and pushes ball away so defender cannot intercept. defender moves leg to intercept ball but it's too late. attacker knows the challenge is ''incoming'' and begins to go down to minimise contact force. defender doen not pull out of tackle in time and contact occurs. technically a legit foul and not a dive like when vardy or alli or sterling drags their leg into the defenders challenge as they have done previously.

it's not amazingly sporting to anticipate contact and go down accordingly but doing so will mean u spend a lot more time on the pitch than out injured.
