This is interesting, but it's pointless without seeing the same for the other five teams.

For me we need to stop worrying about other teams stats. If we want to win the title then the numbers in the win column need to increase against the top6 and the bottom 6. Our title challenge should be in our hands.

Dude, I don't disagree we were good, very good. I didn't say we weren't.

But United didn't repeatedly pass the ball around their own defence under no pressure from us due to us being good. They didn't kick the ball out of play through un forced errors due to us being good. They are just a negative team that don't go for it and have some players that would never ever have been regulars for them 15+ years ago.
I disagree. They did what they did because they didn't know what else to do as a direct result of us being not good but fucking awesome. They obviously did not reckon on us playing that way.... the same old it "It's spurs" narrative was obviously trotted out to them and they caught a cold. They put the ball out of play often, because they were rattled and that's that. If it had been man city Instead of us youd never hear the last of how sublime they were.

We were in the groove on Wednesday. When we are in that mood, only City can beat us imo ( they’d have to be on it too )

“Spurs annoy me.
Time to put them to bed.

My goal this season was:
Top 4
Get out of our CL group
Spurs missing out on top 4.

If they miss out on top 4 there will be player and manager exodus. Spurs should be a mid table team. Chelsea and Arsenal are big clubs. Spurs are Palace level.”

Can we please smash these chumps at their home for once!

Sums up the deluded attitude festering away within most Bin dippers. They have a small core of fans that are genuinely knowledgeable, but the vast majority follow the club from a far and spout complete and utter bollox most the time. Your post is them in a nutshell

When we do beat them Kipperty will most probably blame the tidal flow of the Mersey which was slightly to quick which effected the climate within sham-field thus leading them to perform far below what they're capable of.

We beat Dortmund we were good but.......they were poor
We beat Madrid we were good but........they were poor
We beat Pool we were good but..........they were poor
We beat Yanited we were good but......they were poor

This has been the press general consensus in all these games.

Our press when done right forces mistakes, stops teams taking risks, and puts doubt into the mind of opposition players. These teams didn't just play badly, we made them look poor because we stopped them playing, and forced them to make mistake after mistake. We like all teams are at our best when we play to our strengths, our biggest strength iIMO is the team press. we should use it against every strong team. It has been my biggest frustration thus far, that Poch has been switching our style of play too often and we, again imo, just haven't used our pressing game anywhere near enough in the first half of the season.

But we didn’t press Real or Dortmund, and we didn’t really high press Liverpool, the feature of all those games was Poch took a more pragmatic approach.

Certainly, RM and Liverpool seemed consciously pragmatic, Dortmund at home perhaps more by luck than design as they just came out and forced us back - but that may have inadvertently have been where Poch got the idea for RM from.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that Dortmund (away) and Real were in poor form when we played them, and Mourinho set ManU up very poorly by his standards - though we did also play well and bully them. The Liverpool game was the clear exception, we just outsmarted and dismantled them.

Pogba is a fantastic player but he shouldn’t be played as cm2, it’s just not what he does best, especially against good teams away, he’s best as an 8/10 hybrid in a CM3.

I know that Jose would never do anything to the detriment of winning a match but I do sometimes wonder if because of his arrogance he does sometimes deliberately play players slightly out of position as a bit of a power statement .

I feel this is true of most modern midfielders unless they are ball winners, so I’m surprised to see that there hasn’t been more of a shift to 433/ 4141. Guess that’s why City are storming it.

I actually think both Dele and Eriksen would excel in that role, potentially as a partnership with Dier or Wanyama as an anchor.

Dembele is an odd one, he’s almost an 8/4.

Since when have Chelsea been a 'big club' ? Only since Roman arrived with his stolen money.

To be truthful the press regard every team we beat as poor! Praising us for them is like them having to stab themselves in the nuts with a fork.

It's better to win one and lose one than draw those two games. Do that all through the season =76 points.
Is this new math or something or is this part of another conversation because winning 1 and losing 1 out of every 2 matches only gets you 57 points. A win and a draw out of every 2 gets you to 76.
