Funny, because when I had my Mensa exam 5 years ago my IQ was 131 and I believe that certain sections of the media have an agenda against us, I better call them and make sure they gave me the correct test results.

I guess you must be superior though, us plebeians must be delusional to think that pundits who support other clubs might have an agenda, it’s such a ludicrous proposition that people can be affected by bias isn’t it? I better get my tin foil hat back on and know my place in the intellectual hierarchy.

OR, you could just be wrapped up in your own confirmation bias so much that you refuse to acknowledge the possibility that we are the whipping boys of the media because we aren’t considered a “big club” yet by the wider press as they skew towards the “bigger” clubs and employ many people who have either played for, or support our direct rivals?

I mean, is that even a possibility in your mind? Or am I just imagining the fact that after every game we “bottle it” the media are constantly talking about our players being sold but a club like Liverpool never get this kind of coverage?

I must just be imagining things.

All teams have their good players targeted in the press. It wasn't long ago that Coutinho was being branded about for Barca. I've read a few articles relating to Salah and Real.

Sanchez to city (United).

Even players in the championship get touted every 5 minutes.

I don't see any organised agenda. Of course there's the odd bias but that happens in our favour too.

Come on chap, quoting Mensa exams as a sign of high IQ was hackneyed in the 80s, let alone now. It’s like saying “my dad’s bigger than your dad”

I was responding to his ludicrous suggestion that people who aren't subscribing to his viewpoints have a lower IQ, it’s not the first time I have read this kind of garbage on here when someone is giving an opinion ”My opinion is right, yours is wrong, I know this because I am more intelligent than you are, I also love the smell of my own flatulence”

Pretty typical of the modern mindset really.

The difference is, irrespective of my IQ, I am not claiming to be right or wrong, I have given my opinion on why I think there may be bias in the media towards certain clubs over others and that's it, people are free to disagree and that's fine.

I am not the one suggesting other posters are dimwitted for having an opinion here am I?

I?

Who doesn't? Everyone, surely has a second, if not 3rd sniff. Possibly even more depending on the fragrance. Which means we all love the smell of our own brand. Does it raise IQ? Sure I read that somewhere.

In general I agree with you.

However, if someone says to me they believe the earth is flat I believe they lack intelligence. There are lots of opinions that do lack intelligence, mostly when they can't be backed up.

What is interesting is you didn't address any of my points.

The points I raised which I believe shows people are lacking in intelligence are "the media portray Spurs as a selling club but not Liverpool or Arsenal." It has been shown that Liverpool and Arsenal regularly get called a selling club when losing their best players. So people continuing with this narrative are acting unintelligently, in my view.

Others include the media constantly unsettling our players with transfer stories but not those from other teams. Again people reading transfer stories from other clubs have seen we are far from the only victims of this.

I believe part of the issue is people read news online now. Before a person would read a whole newspaper and see stories about different clubs. Now we primarily read about our own clubs as we choose to click on story links we are interested in or affect us.

I disagree with people all the time in here, almost always in a polite civil way, and happy to apologise if I step over the mark. But sometimes people don't back up their view with anything logical or is simply poorly thought-out. So in this case I don't apologise at all for my post, especially as i wasn't aiming it at any individual in particular.

If you want to make out the media have an agenda against us fine. But as people have shown other clubs put up with the same I don't see it as a valid viewpoint.

Dontcallme leaves to find a Bournmouth fans forum as he realises what forum he is in.

There is a difference between a person smelling their own farts briefly and others training themselves with years of narcissism to the point where they have lost a rib so they have the ability to stick their own nose up their arse on a permanent basis to smell their own flatulence.

Basically, Sol Campbell.

Anybody who can’t see there is a clear and evident bias against us at this point are blissfully ignorant or being purposefully obtuse, it’s as obvious as a slap in the face and it doesn’t take a “conspiracy theorist” to see it.
Yeah yeah, I know. That's not what you meant.

Like fuck.

I'll believe that when you start showing it.

Every club has players being linked with moves away, that is a given in professional football, my point is the frequency in which ours are linked away.

Every bad result we have, the narrative that follows is ”They can't keep their best players” among many other nonsensical ramblings.

Liverpool and Arsenal aren’t known as ”selling clubs” in the media, I have yet to hear a pundit utter those words about either of them (I am happy to be proven wrong here btw.)

These clubs might take criticism for selling a player or not having won a trophy from time to time, I am not denying that but it’s like I said, the frequency in which it happens to us is the issue, so far, every game this season, post-match or pre-match has been the same old discussion and if it hasn't been about that it’s been about how Alli is diving (whilst they ignore every other player who dives.)

You say others lack intelligence for not substantiating their claims but you completely remove context from yours and claim clubs are treated equally when that quite clearly isn't the case and it doesn't take a genius to see that.

It’s not about pundits and media hating Spurs, it’s about the media being made up mostly of people supporting the ”bigger clubs” in other words, we lack representation in the media who will be biased towards us and give it a healthy balance.

Ultimately, I don't believe any of these outlets act professionally, the only paper I have seen with a half decent sports column in The Guardian (a paper I otherwise find unbearable.)

Skysports these days is essentially talksport levels of stupid.

I said they were being blissfully ignorant or purposefully slow to understand, purposefully being the keyword, I am not suggesting these posters are by nature stupid, I am suggesting they don't want to see outside of their own opinions or even acknowledge the possibility of bias in the media.

I actually agree with them on some points and I am happy to admit when I am wrong when given evidence to suggest as much.

There is too much evidence pointing towards a clear bias in the media and I can't believe people can sit there and watch a game like yesterday between United and Liverpool and not see it just from the pundits sitting in the studio and the way they reacted to the game.

I don't remember a single one of them calling Liverpool legends or saying that all their players will be off in the summer or how they need to win trophies? Do you?

Yes, I do. Liverpool get it all the time with their players. They get less of the trophy nonsense because, well, they've won more trophies.

And this very morning, on Talksport, where they talked about how "Rachel Riley effectively ended her credibility in sport when she stupidly called Spurs legends".

And Leicester, when they won some trophy or other, more or less every player they had was linked with a move elsewhere.

Sanchez at Arsenal, and Ozil, their only decent players, were always being linked with a move away.

And there's a lot more than that. If ever a player at a lower club puts together a run of form and scores a few goals, he is linked away. Ask Fulham. Or Southampton. Or if they're in the relegation fight, any half-decent player is linked with a move.

It's as close to indiscriminate as it can be. It's bollox that we're singled out.

I've heard it only this morning on the 'Sunday Supplement' tv show that Pochettino and Klopp, need to win a trophy.

Have you also considered that the media maybe suggest Spurs players have to leave more than they do other teams' players, because we pay less in wages.

Whilst money is not a trophy, I'm sure it has a rather large influence in people's thinking and football in general.

Is it just a coincidence that the clubs who seem to have the most money tend to win the most big trophies?

I'd suggest not.
