Just seen this from a Villa fan (I rarely look at other clubs fan pages where we are mentioned as it seems mostly to be abuse - this appeared on my News Now feed and the title looked very "different" ) - interesting perspective on villa v spurs progress / decline in the Premier League & their (his) view of Daniel Levy.

A good read (especially for our point of view).
Totally agree I always saw spurs, Everton and villa as similar size clubs and we are better now because we are run better at the top than the other 2

It’s true. Not as many as Liverpool - and they probably never will ...

the funniest things about that interview is 1, it showed how thick the supporter was, since the early 60's when the Euro comp started, they have won it 5 frigging times (don't we know) out of 56? times it has been played, 4 at a time when they dominated football, yet there has only been 27 WC's, a competition that is so much harder than the CL, due to countries being restricted to players of that nationality, but with the majority of nations having 1 or 2 World class players involved. Liverpools route last season they never faced 1 top team till the final. the CL is a case of your team getting to a final because you have the chance to buy players that can improve, even if it's from abroad.

2, the funniest thing is he made Cundy sound intelligent and we all know that's not true. heard a Spurs fan on their last night (unfortunately as thick as the scoucer), but after Cundy made a comment saying that none of the Spurs players performed in the WC, hmmm 9/12 goals and 2 to 3 assist, and had 3 step up in a penalty shoot-out and score

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I am worried that he is another Jack Wilshire. Potentially a great player but will amount to nothing. I hope I am wrong and if he does come then Poch can instill the work ethic that Wheelchair was never given.
To be fair to Wilshire, his career failings have been down to injury not work ethic. He is a complete fit but a fantastic footballer. Just been unlucky really.

From what I have heard I have to agree to disagree. I have heard from a close source that his time at Arsenal has been a nightmare. However I have not witnessed first hand so cannot disregard other opinion.

I’ve heard the same. He’s another one of those players who talks about how dedicated and passionate he is for the game and team. But apparently doesn’t take care of himself well. He was allegedly dropped from the England squad as he wasn’t fit enough to keep up with the team in training.

It goes deeper than that from what I heard. Arsenal spent fortunes on trying getting him to settle down and focus on football but he insisted on a life of debauchery.

Tbf there are posters on here that would probably like to do that as well.

I feel abit sorry for him to be honest, he gets stick from our fans, rival chairman/fans and media. He is a true businessman and runs us like a business and maybe now we are seeing other clubs finally getting used to it.

Which is why they don't want to deal with us.

You say that but I guarantee you they will deal with Levy because he will bring money and money talks.

Levy just wants a deal and if you don't ask you won't get.

Yeah. But Levy wants to buy players at 2015 prices and sell them for current ones. I wouldn't deal with someone like that.

I suppose its a stroke of good fortune that you don't own a football club with players we want to buy then.
