Having said that I think a draw against Everton will be a decent result. They are a dangerous team and historically home advantage is very significant on the first game. T

This is true, but at the same time we should be looking to take advantage of the fact that we're playing Everton at a good time - Williams almost certainly won't play even if he has signed as he's had no pre-season at Swansea, so they'll be stuck with Jagielka and that bomb scare Funes Mori at the back, they've got a new manager with new ideas that won't have been fully implemented yet, Lukaku possibly with his mind elsewhere...it's all hypothetical of course, but I reckon they'll be a completely different proposition a couple of months down the line.

At the same time, they may really be up for it trying to prove something to the manager. We will see. The everton fans are negative has they have had a shaky preseason, but if there is anything I've learnt through the years as a Spurs fan is that preseason form counts for naff all when the season gets going.

We need to stop thinking a draw is a good result. We're a better team, better individuals and better manager. We should be aiming for nothing but the win. I know we need to be realistic, but we also need to be optimistic on the same front too.

Like Leicester last year. Still can't believe we drew that first game

As usual GlastonSpur has been embarrassing the entire Spurs supporting world with his posts on RedCafe. He started this thread:

With this incredible first post:

And he was, unsurprisingly, met with this response:

He really does post some inane bullshit over there. Why on earth does he think a United forum will give a fuck about analysing the Spurs squad in such depth? And more to the point if he wants to talk about that stuff, why doesn't he do it on a Spurs forum?! As was noted for him:

Sadly it's not just GlastonSpur on Redcafe that are an embarrassment, quite a few on there do a great job of making Spurs fans in general look like total morons. GlastonSpur is king moron though.

Isn't there a few Spurs fans on Redcafe now, I know @Sweech is on there from here. From what I've read it's only Glaston who is an utter dick the rest are cool.

@Sweech is great but you have the likes of We'veGotDeleAlli and Vicar of Dibly who aren't much better than GlastonSpur (maybe a bit harsh of Vicar of Dibbly but We'veGotDeleAlli is a total tube).

Yeah, I had to broaden my horizons after getting my posting and reading rights removed from the transfer forum after giving A&C a cheeky optimistic rating after having put in a OT post in the ITK thread earlier.

It's the best melting pot forum imo, and naturally the people with allegiances to a specific team gravitate towards that part of the forum.

The thing is not all Spurs forums are for everyone. This is far and away the best one, but maybe some don't like it. COYS is a ridiculous banfest and even signing up is a chore. Then there's the Fighting Cock which is the opposite end of the spectrum where every asshole is allowed to talk so naturally the dumbest and loudest see it as a King of the Hill situation.

Leicester forums re Mitchell:

Trying to snare him from Spurs apparently

Would be a bit of a coup. Done good work at Spurs and Southampton.

Worth poaching him just for the spurs twitter reaction.

Rob McKenzie has also left according to that. He left us to join them not long ago.

Signed some dross at Spurs as well as some good'uns.

Yeah. Where did all that Bale money go?

He joined them well after that. Followed Pochettino there from Saints

Signed wanyama and lovran at saints and signed wimmer, alderwierld, dier and Alli at spur, yes you'll do for me

As if Spurs fans didn't hate us enough already :yuck:

Would be a good fit for us I think if it happens. Great to see us nicking talent off a so called bigger club too. :cautious:

He also got N'jie and Son....

Same Leicester fans who went ballistic when "one of their own" buggered off to Everton to do the same job.

Rawk's take on the M & M departure from WHL:

« Reply #2543 on: Yesterday at 09:29:10 PM »

Not all going well there, who knew Levy was hard to work with!

« Reply #2544 on: Yesterday at 09:35:00 PM »

Njie cost £12m? Blimey, what a bust he was.

Strange window by them. Not really improved their first XI. They should have been looking to buy a top wide midfiekder to replace Lamela. He did improve last season but that is one position they should have upgraded on. (n)

I think Lamela's in for a big season this year, he scored 5 and assisted 9 last year. Not sparkling by any means but he's improved year on year and I expect him to be in double figures for both this year. (y)

Thought they needed to add numbers to their squad rather than first 11.
