Something fishy definitely goes on with the outgoings though.

£60m for Oscar
£28m for an ageing Ramires
£50m for Luiz (albeit they resigned him)
£32m for Schurle
£33m for an inexperienced Lukaku

It would not surprise me in Abramovich is agreeing a price that is lower and just giving the remaining funds back in another way. Some of those prices are a joke, considering this was before stupid prices were common.

GIven the alleged money laundering schemes, detailed by the Telegraph and the Guardian, the money might be flowing the other way. From Russia to china/middle east and then back to chelsea and other russian owned clubs in eu

I don't think it's that great a secret that a lot of money laundering goes on in football.

We should embrace it. Oligarchs and oil barons spending their ill-gotten gains in the UK is fine by me. I'd rather it went in my pocket, but Prem footballers aren't the brightest kids on the block. They'll buy baby Bentleys, over-priced clothes, eat in stupidly-expensive restaurants and all the rest. Trickle down. We all benefit.

Had an interesting chat with a Chelsea supporting colleague and friend and another mate who is a Preston fan (who loves Ledley King) at work over Skype who wants us to win the league over City cause City outspent everyone which I thought was quite funny, convo went like this:

And that's where it ended cause I remembered I was at work.

Dude...didn't their Oil-Daddy loan them a billion quid and then write the loan off?

No, the loan's still on their books.
Although, despite most Chelsea fans fears (and our hopes), I suspect when he sells up he'll just write the loan off and take the profit that is above that amount (Forbes value them at £1.3 billion).

Can't see him selling up any time soon though unfortunately.

Is it wrong to hope he dies? :shifty:

He's prime for assassination, considering he goes everywhere with an army of bodyguards.. He may have the money, but he's always looking over his shoulder
always travels in a car with two other identical cars with it, so its not known exactly which one he's in....proper paranoia.
