Logged in to give this a winner rating. So few people actually understand this it’s incredible.

I worked in the bookmaker industry for a very short period (unfortunately as an addicted gambler, hence why I never lasted long enough) and during our training we where taught about how odds were set in the 1st place. if a company know that someone is likely to bet on something they will set the odds accordingly. Due to the history of Liverpool supporters always believing in the "NEXT SEASON IS OUR SEASON", them and Man U most probably have more money bet on their teams every season, and will always have smallish starting odds to prevent a big payout.

I reckon City will be even stronger next season, Mendy will be back from injury and he is a great lb. Plus they'll spend a fair bit on a couple of new players.

Overexcited West Ham fan on bbc website:

If we could poach Poch, yes please! I'd take Wenger in a flash, he's a class act. I'd have also kept Moyes on, but then I wasn't privy to the behind-the-scenes deal that might materialise with (I assume) Benitez. Not sure I would go for Pellegrini, he's at the wrong end of his career. Fonseca would be exciting if we have him a long contract and let him develop the squad for several seasons.

A West Ham fan talking about poaching Pochettino without a hint of irony. Marvellous.

At least he knows who he wants if not Poch. It’s Wenger. Or Moyes. Or Benítez. Or Fonseca. But definitely not Pellegrini.

Just reading the comments on the bbc website between West Ham fans and Newcastle fans about who’s a bigger club because of the hammers apparently wanting Benítez....

It brings back memories of when we used to argue with Newcastle fans a few years ago about who was bigger and who was going in the right direction. The stick we got in the Newcastle forums was immense because they believed they were bigger and better. A few years down the line and they’re absolutely chuffed they’re staying in the PL while we grab a CL place for the 3rd year in a row. Aston Villa fans were the same.

Whenever we have a mini shit period where we lose a couple of games during an otherwise excellent season, we could do worse to remember the arguments above and seeing where we are now and where they are now.

I feel for some of the Geordies. No one should have to resort to arguing with West Ham fans about who’s bigger.... No one.
