Parts of the media are absolutely shameless with the way they treat Sterling. Comes across naive at the best, racist at the most. Here's a few examples just off the top of my head:

- Early in his career, he took a Ryanair or EasyJet flight to Malaga. In come the Daily Mail, ripping him for spending £80 when he takes home £200k. But you know damn well if he got a 1st class ticket he'd get ripped for that too.

- They made sure we knew all about it when his Mercedes crashed with a canister of laughing gas inside. Turns out he wasn't even driving that night, and let a mate take it.

- Shouldn't be a huge story when Sterling goes to Primark but the media think it is, again telling us how much he makes and how much the things he bought were. Why?

- They tell us he has like 3/4 kids, in actually it's just two

- Called his girlfriend the 'long suffering fiance' in a recent article on WAGs, whilst Harry's fiance is the 'childhood sweetheart'. He met her at the same age Kane met his fiance ffs.

Honestly the media with Sterling are a joke, feel like if his name was Michael instead of Raheem, and he was a young white man, the media wouldn't go as far as they do to find dirt on him

Sorry to write an essay on bullshit like this but the media really needs to be held to account as it's a potentially v dangerous thing

They also absolutely crucified him for having the nerve to commit the heinous crime of buying his mum a nice house to live in as a thank you for all the support she's given him over the years. What a bastard

I liken them to west ham last season - they became obsessed with us and vitriolic. Previously I didn't give a monkeys about them, completely indifferent. Now they have a special place of loathing in my heart, to the point where their obvious anguish and despair this weekend gave me actual physical pleasure
I came too :sneaky:

Could see Alderwiereld, Rose, Wanyama and Sissoko all moving on in the summer.

Could you see it or did you just read it online like the rest of us did?

To be fair, finishing above the European Champions is a fantastic achievement.

Will be the last time it happens for a long time.

Well if recent history is anything to go by, it’ll happen 8 times in the next 9 years, daft ****.

A definite power struggle going on at Spurs.

Yep. No wait, I mean no. No there isn’t. Daft ****.

Spurs are a tiny club who have got lucky in Kane and in the market. That won't last forever. Let them celebrate their trophy for finishing 3rd. We were ahead majority of season but then had to rotate players. Can't wait till spurs become the 6th best team in league again. Where they belong.

You were ahead most of the season until you had to rotate.... ? isn’t that what a squad’s for? Oh, and a tiny club who will have the second highest attendance in England next season, after having the highest this season. You’re right about one thing though:- we should be finishing 6th, like Liverpool should be finishing 4th every year but they haven’t have they. Does this mean Poch is doing a better job with his resources than Klopp is with his....?

Since when have Spurs ever been relevant to us? I couldn't give a shit about them. They aren't even the biggest club in North London. I'll always respect Arsenal, but Spurs have never been on the radar. Are they another club trying to drum up a plastic 'rivalry' with us when we actually don't give a crap about them? It's laughable

Worst comment of the lot. Generally had no major interest in Liverpool until they decided to make Spurs their sworn enemies after the match at Anfield. Going on about Kane and Dele for months even though you ‘don’t give a crap about us’. Your fans have created this rivalry, not us. Daft ****.

I think some of their fans have started to pretend that they are somewhat on our level when it comes to being big clubs. Which they are nowhere near.

Liverpool are a bigger club in terms of history, trophies and worldwide support. But the last 10 years, we’ve been a bigger and better team. 10 years is quite a lot you know...

No, not even close. But their dreams... They aspire to be us, and also despise us for who we are.

Shut up you daft ****.

A couple of decent posters amongst that lot, but some proper shite too. Answers bolded above.

I've never understood the appeal of other football fans posting on other football teams' sites, but there's a nice little North London exchange on RAWK about the Real Madrid job.

Arsenal fan: "I don't know if Pochettino would be the right man for Real. He's never managed a big club before."

Spurs fan: "That's why I can't understand the link with Wenger either..."

:D

Rawk: The Poch To Real Madrid Posts

As soon as we get Fekir and a GK i'm just going to sit back watching the teams around us implode:

Poch leaves Spurs.
Mourinho goes full Mourinho.
Chelsea will have no manager and owner who's lost interest
Arsenal reality hits home with two years out of UCL.

Miguel Delaney from the Independent saying Poch is Perez's personal choice!

It’s happening!

You can’t stand in the way of someone pursuing a dream of going to one of the huge Spanish clubs, regardless of their contract situation. (We'll see if this fella thinks the same when they come for Klopp)

According to a report in the Independent, they are saying Spurs will not stand in his way, providing the money is right. Interesting times ahead....

Poch might really want it.. He wasn’t happy at the end of the season...

Out of interest, would you feel the same if they came knocking for Klopp?

Klopp wouldn’t go there so it’s a pointless question.

Club size and stature come into it. Real Madrid are giants of the game, Liverpool are giants of the game, Spurs are giants in North London.

Real is not Klopp’s cup of tea though, plus Liverpool is much better placed to compete for trophies then Spurs. So not quite the same.

Come on Madrid, please get him.

I think it'd be pretty funny just to see the furious backtracking from Spurs fans, but couldn't really give two fucks either way. Personally think they're in a position like when Arsenal moved into their new stadium, they need a manager to perform a minor miracle just to keep them in the hunt for the top four. There's no doubt their spending will take a bit of a hit, its just not realistic for it not to. And all of this when there's five other clubs with top managers all able to spend a LOT of money. And I honestly don't think there's a manager out there who could perform that miracle for them.

The emotional rollercoaster that Spurs fans must be on must be something else. To go from loving Real Madrid 5 days ago to having their manager poached...lol.

Klopp is at a big club that has shown they can mix it with the best in Europe. Pochettino is at a small club that hasn't been near a trophy in a decade. Hardly comparable.

He said this though..

“When Real Madrid call you, you have to listen to them. Although in this case it doesn’t depend on me. I have just signed a long contract with Tottenham and I am very happy here."

Pretty much asking for the job

-----------------------------------------------------
it’s so bloody obvious to an outsider

Joachim Lowe was linked to the Madrid job ‘I rule this out completely’

Pochettino is linked to the job ‘When Real Madrid call, you have to listen to rhem’

Now, this doesn’t mean they will want him, or want to pay his contract out, or that he would be happy with the set up their (because he’s happy at Spurs, why go somwhetre if it isn’t right?)

But my goodness, it’s so far from a no it’s untrue.

He makes it very clear that he’s interested in the job, but then goes on to dampen expectations because he’s a spurs employee and is sensitive to their fans.

If Reals interest is genuine, I’d be very worried if I were a Spurs fan
