There's simply not enough time now for Levy to pull all his tricks to force the prices down.
We've royally screwed up our homecoming.
If results aren't great in the new stadium then there will also be the inevitable accusations that there's some kind of evil hoodoo hex on us.

I feel abit sorry for him to be honest, he gets stick from our fans, rival chairman/fans and media. He is a true businessman and runs us like a business and maybe now we are seeing other clubs finally getting used to it.
I wouldn't worry mate, something tells me that he isn't all that sensitive to criticism. I listen to a lot of sports radio and he actually gets a lot of praise for his business acumen.

He does for now. He's taken us a long way using his model. The problem is, the model is becoming redundant faster than DVD's in a digital download / streaming world. He's going to have to adapt, accept it'll hold us back, or move to one side and let someone more dynamic in the current climate handle things.
We're probably not that attractive as a potential purchase for a wealthy group now that the stadium is actually built as that'll add a huge amount to our premium.

Don't disagree. I was just disputing the notion that he gets lambasted all over the footballing world and that anyone needs to feel sorry for him. I admire what he's done but some fans seem to feel the need to act like he's above criticism.

Not much being said about us by our opponent's fans I see, but then they're all probably pissing themselves dry at our shambolic transfer window!!!

You mean the knackered Kane, Ericksen and Verts?!!
Knackered. Listen the best players in the world play the most games. Pochettino will just have to get the players fitter.

By the way we still have a great squad as it stands to compete effectively with very good development players coming through

It goes deeper than that from what I heard. Arsenal spent fortunes on trying getting him to settle down and focus on football but he insisted on a life of debauchery.

So west ham hasn't changed since greaves went there? It's the place to go to have a jolly up. Wilshire and carroll will have a great time together.

I don't know if the optimism here is enlightening or delusional.

I will, as usual, avoid the match day threads when we're playing shite football that's for sure.
Any optimism will be gone by September.

They've made some good signings for where they stand in the world

Wilshire is a horrible little **** who isn't good enough for us but is more than good enough for them.
Some of the others and the manager are not their usual shit.

I'd wager Newcastle, our first opponents, have bigger worries than to laugh at us.

Seriously, what a load of nonsense you've just wrote. Other clubs would never deal with THFC if they felt they were being screwed over each time they made business with us.

You could be right. Again, my point was speculation, not assertion.

That said, I wasn't so much suggesting that they wouldn't do business with us, but that they would do it differently.

I've read a couple of different articles saying that Man U were reluctant to do business with us on Alderweireld due to the hassles of dealing with Levy. Now, that probably didn't mean they wouldn't - it just meant they were getting in on (what they perceived to be) the right foot vis-à-vis Daniel Levy, whose manager had made clear he wants business done early. So maybe it (and it's ensuing business) will happen … but it's already August. And we also seem to be reconciling ourselves to the possibility that it (and it's ensuing business) won't.

I also recall how Del Nido at Sevilla went off on Levy after we'd poached Juande Ramos, saying he'd never do business with us again; but a few years later he was in after Dos Santos. So yeah, you're right. They'll come back when it suits them. But when their offer was rejected, rather than counter, Del Nido publicly went off on Levy again. And sandwiched between the two was our pursuit of Diego Capel, after which Del Nido said this:

"But it appears they couldn’t pay that price so they didn’t get him. I must admit that if it had been any other team [than Spurs] the price I’d have quoted to sign Capel would have been lower.

"In fact there is no point in telling a lie, the price would have been considerably lower. Now they’ve missed out on him and we won’t sell Capel to Spurs."

Now, Del Nido's a tool, and no mistake (I think he's done time in Spain since then) - in no way am I suggesting that he's the good guy and/or Levy the bad - but that's definitely personalities inserting themselves into the business end.

Again, I do not say this to slate Daniel Levy. His strengths so far outweigh this (speculative) complaint that it should barely register as criticism. It was just a thought. I'll say no more about it. In fact, I'll even conclude by repeating the most salient portion of Ralvy's concise response, so as not to be seen as trying to have the last word. :D

... what a load of nonsense you've just wrote.

You weren't the one suggesting that, I was the one suggesting that no one would be doing business with us if they really felt like they are very likely to be screwed over by Daniel Levy if they dare to enter into negotiations with him.

We all know Levy's reputation as a tough negotiator, that just means he's usually very good at getting good value for THFC in most deals he works out, it doesn't mean the other parties involved are usually left feeling like they aren't getting their needs satisfied in return or like the experience wasn't worth while most times they work a deal with Daniel Levy. If that really was the case, then they would have to be stupid to agree to such a deal in the first place.

Guys this is the what our opponents fans are saying about us thread.
No one's talking about us because we aren't doing any fecking thing.

Sooooo I'm gone put words in their mouths.

They says we are fucking our future up.

Man United fans are saying they can practically click and wink at Poch and he'll come running after the not-so-special one is sacked/lynched.

Arsenal fans are looking forward to knowing they aren't going to be in our shadow for 22 years like we were in theirs.

West Ham fans are literally cumming all over themselves that they've signed some half decent players and might not be relegated this year AND might win a league match against us.

Chelsea are acting all doom and gloom but they'll perk up when they sign Grealish, Zaha, Martial, Bale and anyone else we might like only to loan them out to Fiorentina, Atalanta, Deportivo and Meunchengladbackenfuckenpissedoff.

Nah, they're probably laughing at you to be honest. You're a living, typing cliche of how other teams fans view a Spurs fan.
