He got all the Watford fans wives and girlfriends preggers and kicked all their cats and called them feck off.
That's what I was told anyway ?
Might have been a little exaggerated I guess.
Because he's hardly scored against anyone in the past 3 seasons.

One-season wonder.

All valid reasons there.

I see that their squiffy custodian, the drink-sodden wretch Hugo 'blotto' Lloris won't be turning out.
What a surprise.
The grog-guzzling Gallic glovesman has apparently cried off with a supposed 'thigh injury'.
More likely hungover from yet another heavy sesh on the Calvados.
By the way, how tight must you have to be to be earning £100,000 per week yet still be too tight to shell out on a taxi?

I bet when we drew Madrid last season a few of us were gobbing off about how they were overrated and they "had a feeling" we'd spank them. OK, we DID spank them but any neutral observer would've though we were a bunch of biased idiots saying that about the two time consecutive reigning champions with the all time top CL scorer.

Wherever there are football fans bias and bollocks are rife.
Time of the month?

What a weird comment to make. It's not even as if us and Watford are rivals in any way, shape or form. Why would they want one of the best talents in the PL to have to cut his career short?

Bizarre.

he scored in the dying seconds when we beat them 2-1 in a very fiery game

I'm not sure even Bournemouth or Palace fans would reciprocate needy Watford fans' enmity. Surely their great rivals are Luton or, er, Boreham Wood or something.

I said we were aspiring to be like them, though perhaps I didn't say so in clear terms, my apologies.

I fully agree that we are not on their level. They're a great club in many ways. Bit of a nutty manager but I see a lot of similarities between us and them. They are who we want to be as our 'next step'. We definitely aren't at that level at the moment. Hopefully we will be.

Roma are not miles behind us, but I feel some of the comparisons in that post are a little bit historical. I'm going more on form, players, ability, potential etc based on the last year or 2. I do think in a present day situation, we are more towards being better than them than being similar to them.

I think it's mostly down to Roma having a reputation for bottling it. Being a bit 'Spursy'.

Are we finally respected in Europe (by fans that actually watch football?)
Not just fans. Coaches at big clubs are too. Last summer, after playing a preseason game against one of the big boys, I was told by someone from this club that we were very difficult to play against, strong physically and mentally and that they hoped they wouldn't have to face us in the CL. I was also told that a lot of people really admire Poch and love how he is with his players.

Now that we're big time, beating clubs that don't even have a stadium by anything less/fewer than a 4-0 tonking would be a big disappointment. Clearly our 2nd string team are too good based on Wednesday's result so I'd dip into the U15s for the majority of the team with the rest made up of U12s.
I like this guy...actually i quite like Watford fans in general.
Their match thread covers topics including grammar and the origins of the word 'sherbert'.

Most of them are quite realistic and expect a loss with the occasional optimistic poster hoping for a sneaky win.
