I still remember being 3-0 up against utd at halftime.

The horror.
Completely different time, players and coaching staff. We, the fans, need to forget about those past defeats. Poch and the players have surely earned the right for us to feel confident and not fear the worst by now?!

I keep seeing these past turnarounds come up daily now. The players, at not even their best, beat a Bundesliga leading Dortmund 3-0 who featured the second coming of Jesus in Jadon Sancho. Come 2nd leg, Kane, Rose, Dier, Wanyama and Alli could all be back in the fold and we very rarely go a match without scoring.

Unlike the rest of you fearing the worst, I am confident of scoring and going through. I get not wanting to be complacent, but the mindset of some you baffles me. It is exactly what Poch wants us to move on from.

They have to stop us scoring and put 3 to 4 goals past us
Not many teams have stopped us from getting at least 1 and I believe we will score as they will be very open to go for the goals they need.
I'm confident we have done enough. :barefoot:

Eventually they will be, but for the first half I'd imagine they'll just play a normal game.

You've got to remember that if they concede a goal the tie is pretty much over.

So although we'll be nervous, they'll be massively nervous because they simply can't concede.

Therefore, I doubt they'll throw caution to the wind until late on.

Good post

Us fans get nervous for sure, but I doubt the players will be anything other than focused

This squad is actually really experienced now, who have some massive results under their belts from the last few seasons

I remember punching the wall in the pub and almost breaking my hand. That was a properly low moment for me and spurs!
The wall still tells anyone who'll listen about the day he took down the legendary Riggster ;)

To back up what you're saying, from what I can see, in Poch's entire tenure we have only lost by a scoreline that would see us go out of the Champions League once - the 5-1 defeat at Newcastle. We've lost 3-0 a few times, but this would obviously see us go into ET. As you say I think we need to trust the players and the management, I genuinely can't see us throwing this away.

Almost broke your hand? You mustn't have punched it very hard.

Or do you want to confess that it was more of an open handed slap?

I’ve never watched that second half and have zero motivation to do so. I can still remember the actual day too. A mate of mine at half time said “don’t worry, you won’t lose from here”. Obviously it’s now said quite regularly if his team are winning a match

I, unfortunately, did. Mocking the life out of my Utd mates. Crushed by the end.

Some serious scars over the years.

For what its worth I have total faith in Pochettino and this group of players and genuinely believe those days are behind us ??

Q. Did You Know?
The final of the CL is on the 1st June 2019.

Our last League game is the 12th May. That’s 3 clear weeks we will have to wait without playing a competitive game :ROFLMAO:

And that Newcastle defeat was at the end of the season after that battle at the Bridge game, which saw us lose the league. The players were mentally and physically exhausted. That was a one off.
