those guys need to get over it. For about 10 years the top 4 was controlled by the same 4 teams. With Spurs and City its going to be tougher. And the fact is its been that way for the last 10 years. Bunch of entitled babies.

I keep feeling that I should appoint myself referee, as I think I'm probably the only person here who is fully-bilingual in English.

But after nearly 50 years in London, I'm too prejudiced. I'd be adding on extra minutes of injury time every time someone said the score was "one-zero", flashing yellow cards for any kind of foul against the syntax and pointing to the penalty spot for excessive rhoticity [no, you know how to use Google, look it up].
WTF has cooking food on a skewer got to do with the ENGLISH language?

Arse mania
That’s what I always think then I see the Sp**s fans and realise how incredibly privileged I am to be a Gooner.

Can you imagine how miserable our lives would’ve been if we supported a team that hasn’t won nothing since Madonna was a virgin, and won’t win anything in our life time?

AFTV is splendid tonight.

Why does the pain of DT give me so much pleasure?

I did like his line...”Monreal.....fuck me.... come on....this is a football club not a nursing home”.

Maybe all the shit he has chatted about Spurs over the years. Poor little lad got his comeuppance.

Gloves??!! Fucking gloves?? It’s April you prick!

I don’t understand and never have understood what the big deal is. The English that was spoken in GB in the late18th century was vastly different in spelling, word choice, and pronunciation, from Shakespeare’s time. It evolved as language does. So it shouldn’t be surprising that the English written and spoken by two sets of English speakers isolated from one another for another couple hundred years would have also evolved and evolved somewhat differently. If the English spoken today in the UK was identical to that spoken in 1780, then British English speakers would have a point. But it is not remotely close so I’m not sure how anyone could expect average Americans who had little opportunity to interact with British speakers until the mid 20th century would somehow conform the evolution of the American variant in exactly the same way as British English evolved.

Just to follow up, this divide appears to have happened rather late (19th century) so American English, at least today, is closer to what traditional English was before the split. At least in terms of rhoticity.

Obviously Colonial English was heavily influenced by various Native languages as well borrowing from other colonial languages, and even influences from the slave trade.

To be fair, most of what he said seems to be spot on?

However, I wouldn't like to be Kroenke when they head over to The States for their pre-season tour. DT's taking his fucking banner & everything.
