They have a poll on one of the arsenal forums with the same question, but a slight majority to both win.

I would always vote for what's best for us first.

So would I, but I kind of understand why they’d opt for both clubs losing. All those years of being in it, we come along and equal their best ever CL finish. They’ll be thinking that if we win it they would never, ever hear the end of it.

And they’d be right.

There’s a difference between watching it for laughs and actually finding it more important that we lose than them winning. I’m not going to lose any sleep if they make it to the CL .

On a slightly different note I think it’s wrong that 2nd place in the CL doesn’t get you into next year’s CL. Academic now but it’s much more of an achievement than winning Europa.

the runners up qualifying won't ever change until Liverpool are runners up and fail to finish top 4:cautious: they will most probably play an extra qualifier against the Welsh league winners like they did when finishing 5th to Everton and the winners never automatically qualified (which was a stupid rule)

A Chelsea mate of mine just posted a meme on FB that says:

"BREAKING: Madrid police have raised concerns that Tottenham fans may take flares to the stadium on 1 June. Because that's what they wore last time they were in a European final."

Not sure if he remembers the 70s, but I would have thought he was mainly on the coke by 1984.

I replied:

"Perhaps Chelsea fans were still wearing flares in 1984. Certainly not Spurs fans."

I bet the scousers will still turn up in their shell suits:whistle:

I have a couple of Liverpool mates and one was posting on Twitter about how football lost on Sunday as Man City just spend loads of money etc. I then sent him a message saying he must be supporting Spurs in the CL final if he’s a ‘football’ fan then as we’ve spent sod all. He still hasn’t replied.

Who'd do you want to be bought out by? Unicef? Children in need? The red cross? Many people who make a lot of money have done so using unscrupulous means. Even our beloved Joe Lewis ruined many people finacially to make his money.

Curious how you think Joe Lewis ruined many people financially to make his money?

I assume you refer to his bet against sterling in the 90s with George Soros but I would disagree he ruined people rather he made a bold and audacious bet on outcome where the writing was on the wall already due yet another stupid decision by politicians down the ages

Don't know how it is that certain clubs attract a certain type of fan, but Liverpool's fans seemed to have changed over the last 5/10 years to the point where i cannot stand that club where i once had a soft spot for them.

I was at the 95 FA Cup quarter final when Klinnsman made it 2-1 in the 90th minute. We all went mad obviously (though that would be considered polite applause compared to my reaction after Ajax :) ).

After the game, walking out of the ground i lost count of the number of Liverpool fans who told us......well played.......you deserved to win.......good luck in the semis.........safe journey home......etc etc.

what the hell has happened to them??? Perhaps as the years have gone by, and no league title has been won, and the financially doped clubs like City and Chelsea have surpassed them, and then to run salt in the wounds, organically grown clubs like us regularly finished above them in the league, they have grown more and more bitter. Just my theory anyway.

Should we do it in Madrid, i think the red half of merseyside will experience an existential crisis the likes of which mankind has never witnessed before.

I thought he just made profit from other people ruining themselves?
I don't think he set out expressly to ruin anyone.

Fair enough. I don't know enough about the incident to debate the point.
I thought himself, and others like him, flooded the market with pounds to devalue the currency which lead to the pound crashing.
Like you said the writing was on the wall, and the opportunity was there, but they took full advantage.
If they were smart enough to see that they must have also known it would ruin the less financially savy.
Like i said initially i don't know enough, and my simple sumation probably doesn't do the incident justice

Going back to ‘What other fans are saying about us’ over on RAWK, they think the finals already won, that while we are a ‘Good’ team, they are an ‘Elite’ one.

While i can appreciate the football Liverpool play, the fans are absolute bellends.

I was listening to a couple of them on TS the other day. And confidence is crazy.

This one guy said that we haven’t been able to get close to them in the games this season, that we did alright in the second half at anfield but they never looked like loosing! I swear some people are blind, we was all over them the second half and looked the more likely to win it than them.

That’s why I dislike Liverpool fans. Every other club their fans would at least be slightly worried, nervous etc.

They think it’s already won

Liverpool have blind faith in their club and looking at the history you can understand. They have been unbelieveable this season, just goes to show how F good City are.

We can't afford to have a hard luck story we must be absolutely clinical and completely tight and seriously attack imo Harry Kane has to start. Son and Moura must not crawl into a shell and really step up too.

It would also be helpful if some time in the next three weeks we could work out how to defend set pieces.

Starting a rusty and not fully fit Harry would only be for the benefit of Liverpool.

Regardless of who wins, I just hope its an absolutely cracking game of football.

We've given the world two already, vs City and Ajax, it's only fitting we deliver the same in the final.
