It's interesting seeing their views. Although we've had a decent record against them at the Lane in recent years, I don't think that 'on paper' we've had as good a team as them. But that's changed now and it seems that most of them realise that we are at least their equals when it comes down to the first team.

I think it's a mark of how much we've caught them up that a draw would be a very good result for Chelsea in this one, whereas for us it would be disappointing.

That said, with our potential injury issues, I still look at their team and think it could cause us alot of trouble.

Ramires is in my fantasy team, but i've dropped him to the bench this week - scored me plenty of points too, hence the reason i have everything crossed that he doesn't play.

Chelsea fans are hard to guage for me; there are so many that have only arrived since the Abramovich era, who appear to know very little about their team and it's history. They are mostly unbearable, chinless twats, who have a fortune in mummy and daddys bank account. But then there's the other breed of Chelsea fan; the real fans, the one's that stuck with them through the highs and lows of the 80's, the gradual emergence out of the gloom with players like Zola & Poyet really turning the side around - they are most often great conversation and really quite interesting company. Sure, that's not all of them, there are exceptions to every rule, but it can't be easy being a long time fan of a flavour of the month club.

Obviously, their forums will never fairly be representing the level headed fan though, no football forums do. I mean, check out Spurs Chat...

My Wife's uncle got voted Chelsea Fan of the Year by their supporters club back in the late 90s. And last Xmas, we had a (very drunk) 2 hour debate about the teams. He admitted that we were pretty much on a par at that time... Wonder how he feels about it now. Even after a couple of bottles of wine he actually spoke sense about Spurs (not much else though lol)
And tomorrow, during the game, I have to go out to dinner with wife, Parents in law and wife's grandfather. All Chelsea fans. So, that will be a fun one! lol

On the train up there last night I was confronted by about 30 chelsea fans all telling me that Spurs are a "joke club" with "no history" and that we are shit because we've only won the league once...

I was gobsmacked, what was worse was they were all northerners!

I don't think my "what history have you got then, pre the Russian all that happened to you lot was helicopter crashes" went down too well.

Edit:
Just thought to look it up, he was telling me how Sunderland have won the league more times than Spurs...that's how shit we are...just looked it up:

Tottenham Hotspur : 2 (as we know, 50/51 & 60/61)
Sunderland FC : 6 (1891/92, 1892/93, 1894/95, 1901/02, 1912/13, 1935/36)
Chelsea FC : 4 (1954/55, 2004/05, 2005/06, 2009/10)

What a cock

Three out of their four titles don't count in my book, so:
Spurs 2
Chelsea 1
:)

Well guys Spurs 1-1 Chelsea.

Spurs were scary going forward, but at the back they were lazy and at times no where to be seen. We could do em' if we tighten up at the back.

Tierney must watch out for Walker-Bale as they has lots of pace and skill. Tierney gets caught ball watching at times and needs to be on top of his game against spurs.

If spurs defence is the same on tuesday as it was tonight Holt and Morison will have chances we just need to put them away.

Can I confirm the Spurs game is on SKY.
Thats the thing Bears . We wont have all that many chances against them , and anything that comes our way , we''ve got to convert it . 2 goals from 14 shots on target in out last game doesnt bode well
I'm gonna go for another 2-2 draw and then we'll smash fulham at home.
You know, looking at the Spurs v Man C, Bale was brilliant in the first 15 or so and I thought OMG are we in for a torrid time, but then Spurs seem to be the less dominant side and they were at home and gradually I began to feel that we are not going to get a whacking and Spurs are vulnerable and Morison will give their defence just as horrible a torrid time. Last time I saw a Spurs V City game was the League Cup Final in the 70's, it was a ripper but we lost. Time to rectify me thinks - City by one
They have the crap Gallas at CB hence I predict we will get 3.
Spurs have :

Van Der Vaart - King - Kaboul - Defoe (50/50) - Huddlestone - Dawson and Lennon all out for our game.

We to dent their confidence early on as they are a confidence team if their heads drop then we can win it, just don't give them respect and back off them

I don't blame Norwich fans for being confident, they've done far better than expected and should feel confident about facing anyone at home.

Having said that, we should still win.

Norwich are doing well so far and quite tough to beat even if they do concede a few. Looking at our injury list I can see why they are confident.

We have the quality to beat them but this will be quite close I think.

I think this will be a very tough game indeed. We need to be very tight at the back and I'm not so sure about them taking their chances we have to do the same! We must get early momentum and not stop, this game is so important. And I actually had more faith in us beating Chelsea than beating Norwich away.
