i'd be interested to hear how many fans you think we'd get at wembley for hull at home for example?

I just don't understand how you can assume we wont be able to fill our allocation at Wembley when we're building a 61k seater stadium. Hull isn't a good example, as you're probably quite right in saying there may be a few empty seats. But for the games against the top teams in the league and in the CL, would you really want to be playing in a 30k stadium?

Edit: Apologies to everyone for the off-topicness, I hate contributing to threads that have nothing to do with what they're supposed to!

Red Cafe - Youngsters Under Mourinho

So the main issue with Jose is the worry of the youngsters that showed lots of promise this season getting shipped out. Out of this list, who will be starters, bench options, stuck in reserves, loaned out or straight up sold?

List of players (24 or below) who have made first team appearances this season:
Anthony Martial
Luke Shaw
Jesse Lingard
Marcus Rashford
Timothy Fosu-Mensah
Adnan Januzaj
Andreas Pereira
Memphis Depay
Phil Jones
Guillermo Varela
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson
Paddy McNair
James Wilson
Nick Powell
Donald Love
Regan Poole
James Weir
Will Keane
Joe Riley

In my opinion, the only one's I can see being starters for us are Martial and Shaw.

His record with youth is one of the main reasons I don't want him here , especially with the current crop we have coming through . Maybe hel be more inclined to give them a chance having actually seen them compete at the top level? I don't imagine he attended too many Real Madrid youth / Chelsea youth games to get a good enough opinion on a players chance at making it .

Hopefully he brings in Ibrahimovic with him at the very least , who will surely be great with our youngsters.

He'll use as much as Wenger, Conte, Guardiola, and Klopp will. Possibly more than the first three. Of all the top managers, it seems Pochettino is the only one who actually uses a lot of his youth.

The likes of Martial, Rashford, TFM and Shaw will be fine because quite simply - they're good enough. The same way how Balotelli, Zouma, Varane and Santon had opportunities too under Mourinho. I'm not going to lose any sleep if average young players like Jesse Lingard aren't played consistently.

KUMB - A £20M Striker Thread

With all the news about Chinese clubs and Lady Brady spouting off, I think its a good time to open discussion on potential summer recruitment.

Last Brady indicated we would buy a 20million plus striker this summer

Fill yer boots

Is anybody else concerned that a £20m striker this summer is not what we'd think a £20m striker is due to the increase in TV money?

I imagine the title was meant to say £20m plus striker? that was my take on it anyway.

Stoke City have just spent £18m on a player! we are a bigger club with more money than them, so if we are serious about this next level especially with our move to the OS next year, we need to be spending this amount on one player not having £20m as our whole budget ( like in previous seasons ) so we can keep ahead of the competition and progress our club forward.

If I was a West Ham fan I would be concerned that vice chairman is taking it upon herself to promise players to the fans rather than the manager or the owner although I'm not surprised of the vulgarity of describing players in monetary terms rather than suggesting attributes they are looking for.

Classless woman, classless club.

Still would though.

I think it is nonsense to say that no team in the prem knew Leicesters tactics so Leicester surprised them and won. Xmas we all knew their game, January we all knew their game, February we all knew their game.... What's different next season? Oh they won the league so we had better take their tactics into consideration and chAnge our game accordingly???? If this is the case then ALL the coaches/ managers that ignored their game should be ashamed of themselves, Poch included, or did they take account of it and still come up short?
Well Poch very rarely changes his tactics at all to begin with. So cant really base anything off him.

So do you think its useless building a 61k seat stadium? That is essentially what your saying.

not useless but i think fans are overplaying the impact it'll have on the club as tv and sponsorship money have far surpassed match day revenue. it does reflect well on the club as a brand though as i don't think you can seriously claim to be on a level with your rivals when your stadium is half the size. i think we'll fall a fair way short of averaging 61k in the short-medium term as i just don't think the spurs fanbase is as big as it once was, arsenal and chelsea take a big share of the next generation of fans and even west ham with their new stadium and cheap tickets will be a threat to us in the future.

Ooh Southampton fans are gonna be particularly salty with all the Koeman talk. Cant wait.

To quote one...

"Koeman has rejected our contract, his agent is en-route to Everton to discuss terms with them. Wanyama is leaving, so is Mane, the VVD and JWP contracts mean nothing as they have release clauses in them, St Mary's is going to be swept into the sea and I've run out of biscuits."

Whereas another just posted this...

meanwhile, they will continue to hate Spurs for taking their players/manager but remain indifferent to clubs from Liverpool for doing the same thing.

I really hope that Koeman goes to Everton. There's a Saints fan at work who loves having digs at Spurs. He was recently telling an Everton fan how Southampton are a much bigger club than them. Didn't likeitwhen we both told him that he was talking bollocks and that Koeman would jump at the move if offered.
