Merson and Nicholas were taking the piss out of Lamela. They were just talking over Phil Thompson while he was praising him and saying to each other ‘he’s a Tottenham player’ and shrugging their shoulders as if to say that’s all he is, typical flashy but no substance type thing, like he’s still talking about 90’s Spurs. Absolutely clueless about his work rate and creative play because they don’t watch the games and they’re loving the fact that all isn’t rosy at Spurs.
Charlie Nicholas really should have gone to Specsavers...

(Any excuse to post this clip)

Football 365 is usually spot on. This, on the other hand, is a steaming pile of titanosaur Argentinosaurus huinculensis shit:

Congrats, Dave Tickner, you've excelled yourself.

Spurs producing an insipid, error-strewn display against the defending champions on a bumpy NFL pitch the day Real Madrid sack their manager. Timing.

Must have watched a 30 second highlight reel. We were turning their defence inside out as often as they were ours. We had numerous glorious chances that came from quality play .
Even Sissoko looked the part.

Shame about the score and the defending, but the rest was good. Better to watch that Cardiff, Newcastle, WH, Watford, Liverpool etc.

We are playing better last three matches but we're still making amateur mistakes at the back on a conistent basis (says our defence isn't near good enough anymore to me) and attacking wise still haven't hit anywhere near the heights of a couple of years ago when we were playing some beautiful football, been closer to an AVB season this year so far where average looks good as it is better than shit.

We've conceded the 3rd fewest goals in the league this year. I agree we're making silly mistakes, ones I don't understand, but we're not hemorrhaging goals.
We were unlucky in front of goal last night. Kane's first touch, that dipping shot, Lamela's "Sissoko" all go in and it would have gone down as one of our best wins in a long time.

Nothing. NOTHING is as bad as the football in AVB's post-Bale season.

Nothing? Tim Sherwood breathes a sigh of relief

The mistakes seem to come mostly very early in the game. Is this now a confidence thing? If so I suggest we start games with a more pragmatic approach getting some good tackles and clearances in rather than trying to play pretty stuff from the first whistle. We have to find a way to rebuild confidence. Trippier has got a lot of stick for last night and sure he was at fault for the goal yet he got better as the game went on and put in a decent performance. I thought our full back were probably better than theirs on the night ... who cost City £100million

To be fair, Sherwood's football was a complete mess but you could never call it turgid. There was usually some entertainment to be had, and yes defensive ineptitude is a form of entertainment.

They are also running another story ..

"Tottenham are a shithouse operation disgracing the Premier League"

I don't know the context of this lurid headline and I am not going to click on their shabby sensationalist click bait articles any more.

That was a mailbox letter from a random reader complaining about the NFL logo on a PL pitch and calling Levy and co the shithouses. Not Poch or the players.

Weird how united played the other day with loads of rugby markings all over the pitch and not a single word was mentioned.

Some of their newer writers are real controversy merchants, no better than Talkshite peddlers. I don't like either Tickner or Steven Chicken.

The site is going down the pan

Best writers have either left - Daniel Storey - or write very occasionally - Peter Goldstein.

They’ve replaced them with clearly young “hot takers” who just slag off every team bar Man City and Liverpool.

Obviously works for wider clicks but they’re alienating their original audience. A very modern dilemma
