This is awsome reminds me that Jose does kind of know what he’s talking about lol.

You don’t win that many trophies without knowing what you are doing, even if he has always had shit loads of money to spend ( Porto aside, although even they were one of the top clubs in their domestic league). And he’s anyways been one of ( if not the best ) at having the right tactics/strategy for big games.

His issue is his management style is less and less applicable these days in the modern game and he’s just become a grumpy shit who pisses everyone off.

Just thought I'd let you know, for those of you who may have mellowed towards Robbie Savage over the years on BBC 5 live yesterday evening he said he "hoped Liverpool won the Champions League", Chris Sutton called him out on it but he insisted he "wanted Liverpool to win it because of what they've done this year". Not sure exactly what he meant by what they've done this year, failed I suppose.:)

Totally. I still don’t like Moura as the furthest forward on his own. Whether as a false 9 or central striker.

He needs another up there close to him to free up the space a bit.

This is why Llorente changed the game. The first goal was perfect for Moura, a counter at pace, but that doesn't happen often. Need someone to draw defenders.

This is the reason we're better with Kane, he's drawing the entire defense and Son and Moura actually have some room to play.

BeIn Sports when Mourinho or Wenger are doing the analysis is top stuff.
It makes you realise how far off the mark your typical pundits are.
So when you get a pundit criticising a coach/manager you really do have to ask "Do you know what you're talking about?"

I'd like to dissect what the Irish pundit Brian Kerr had to say about us. However, it's not been totally possible.

I think it was complimentary though.

It was very complementary!! He raved about our second half after the game!

I’ve never seen him so animated before though!!

It’s a very tame celebration compared to what I’ve seen elsewhere.

I think it was the BBC radio commentator who said about 30mins after the game, “Pochettino looks like someone who has just left the office Christmas party”.

“Spurs shouldn't be there. You say to anyone at the start of the season a team is going to lose 19 games in all competitions, and yet they'll find themselves in the final of Champions League, you'd say you are talking nonsense.

"But they've somehow got themselves there, and I think they are fortunate to be there."

"I think another way to look at it, I'm looking at it through the eyes mostly, of a Liverpool supporter, and I'd pose a question, if you were picking a team from the 22 players that were going to start the game, how many Spurs players would be in that 11?

"I'm thinking as we're standing here, Eriksen possibly in midfield, and Harry Kane, then you've got nine Liverpool players. But the minute you try and attach any logic to a game of football, you come unstuck."

No qualms about attacking this particular pundit on this occasion :D

Has someone told him that when Liverpool won the CL in 2005 they also lost 19 matches and you could literally say the same argument about the respective Milan/Liverpool sides, how many of those players would have got into that great Milan team? 1 maybe 2 at a stretch? And the gap between this teams is far greater than the gap between us and Liverpool.

Didn't hear anything about them not deserving it then...?

Only 2?

I didn’t realise Liverpool had signed Lloris, one of our Belgians, Sissoko and either Son or Dele.

Liverpool trump us at full back, but if you selected a joint side it’s 6+5 either way. They rode the crest of a wave this season while we had every factor possible against us, but it’s only the second time they’ve finished above us in a decade. The sides are very evenly matched, especially for a one of game with two fully fit squads.

Just pondering what w combined xi would look like:

Lloris
Alexander-Arnold Virgil Vertonghen Robertson
Sissoko Fabiano
Salah Eriksen Mane
Kane

At first I thought it’s not that bad, I guess we’ve been a little bit lucky and have ridden our luck a bit and it’s not like he’s saying we dont deserve to be there just that we are fortunate to be there but the whole 2 player thing just smacks of him thinking we don’t deserve to be there. I dunno, I think it’s probably best we kill him

Lloris is pushing it after the season he’s had

You have to ask yourself at what point will he actually try and attach any logic?

Lloris is pushing it after the season he’s had

I take it you’re unaware that Hugo made one error leading to a goal and made 101 saves, with us having the third best defensive record in the league, while Allison made an entire three mistakes leading to a goal and made 76 saves despite his side having the best defensive record.

This suggests that Hugo played behind a less solid side but was both more reliable and more saved more able in emergency. He also made more sweeper clearances, saved more penalties and was only 3 behind on crosses claimed.

Long and short of it, Hugo has a harder job and still does it to a higher level. Admittedly with his passing Alisson would be a better midfielder.
