Former Liverpool man turned outspoken pundit Stan Collymore believes Tottenham star Danny Rose is certainly a player the Reds should be looking at this summer.

“Manchester United got into the Champions League via the back door. Liverpool did it by their league position. They should be looking at the situation very, very carefully and perhaps thinking ‘yeah, if Danny Rose is available, let’s gazump Manchester United, let’s gazump other clubs that maybe interested in him.’

“A specialist, an England international, will join up with other internationals like (Jordan) Henderson and (Adam) Lallana makes perfect sense for me.”

Why he fuck would Danny rose wanna go to Liverpool? No matter what we do people will still think we're 6th in the 'top 6' and any of our players would leave us for another the other five teams at the drop of a hat.

Because Liverpool will offer 20% (or higher) extra in wages .... that would be the only reason to go to that club.

p.s don't ask me where I pulled the 20% figure from ... out of my Arse(ne).

Any extra wages would be negligible when you factor in replacing wheels and the extra contents insurance you'd need on your house.

And don't forget the scouse lessons, so you have a vague idea what the local people are saying to you.

Maybe because 20% is equal to one fifth and that suggests FIVE TIMES!!!!!11!!1

Phil Neville predicts Man Utd to win Premier League over Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal

Neville explained why he thought Spurs would miss out on the top four.

"I think playing at Wembley will be a major challenge for Tottenham Hotspur," he added.

"The big wide open pitch will be totally different to White Hart Lane."
United will not win the title. Who have they signed that would seriously get into our first XI? They have better depth than us but our XI is better.

I've tipped us third but I can understand why pundits would put us lower because of the Wembley factor. At least he's not said "Spurs haven't signed anyone so this'll be a disaster".

Michael Owen says it'll be us and Arsenal that miss out on Top 4. Jenas is worried to, apparently.

I was gonna say, couldn't believe we weren't even mentioned in that headline and then I saw his reasoning for us missing out being Wembley and I thought oh yeah, can't blame someone for thinking it will hamper our season to be honest :(

Was curious to see what Phil Neville predicted for 2016/17 and found the below link.

Looks like he had United, City, Liverpool for top 3 and mentioned us next. No mention of Chelsea.

I seem to recall Phil Neville predicted Utd to win the league in the year Moyes took charge - that went well. I think he tips them for the title every season. They have a better chance this season than in any other season since Fergie retired but after last season's performances and City's recruitment I can't see how anyone thinking objectively would make Utd favourites.

I said it at the end of last season, I bet no pundit puts us in the top 4.....just like last year. They are all idiots who seem to think that whoever wins the "spend the most money" trophy in the summer will win the league.

To be fair Madrid a fair amount of the time win the "spend most money trophy" usually in the same season as winning their 12th CL trophy and countless titles, but yes I get your point from the media perspective.

Because it's a very easy prediction to make.

watching the Guardian predictions, they are going in alphabetical order so a few days yet before they get to us, but they have had the goons in 5th and everton 7th so far. So my guess it is between us and liverpool who they put in 4th/6th place (the guardian is not BT sport so won't get too carried away with klopp the messiah bs)

Personally I think far too many are getting caught up in the hyperbole about the pitch size. The reality is the Wembley is 5m longer and 2m wider than the WHL pitch.

Think about it from this perspective, 5m extra length equates to an extra 2.5m in each half. When running that is effectively 2 steps, is that really that much of an advantage/disadvantage even with pacey forwards against our high line? Then the width, that's an extra meter on each side, the length of your arm. Is that really so much additional width that our defence is suddenly going to be pulled apart, opening gaping gaps?

Forget the surface area, length and width are the only two relevant measurements with regards to the pitch, and the differences really aren't that huge.

I think the issue is more about perception. Wembley is a big stadium that has a fair amount of real estate between the pitch and the stands, so it "feels" like it's much bigger, but the reality is quite different.

The Wembley pitch would not be our undoing, it's the teams perception of its size. If the team get over that then there's no reason why they can't function there just as well as at WHL.
