That Denis Wise interview was ridiculous. Basically repeated what others hand been saying, dodged a couple of questions and then answered some without actually answering them . He contradicted himself a couple of times too.

Why do they pay ppl who are clearly unable to offer insight or and rational thoughts behind stuff??

In my opinion it was neither. It was a coming together, but no more than that. It wasn't a foul, Kane was slightly off balance, and if you watch in slo-mo he was starting to go down before any contact was made.
He played for it. Like all good strikers he got himself between the ball and the defender then stopped his own forward momentum, so that the defender ran into the back of him.
It is an interpretive thing for a referee, but Calvert Lewin won a penalty for Everton against Lovren in more or less the same manner, changing his momentum so that he gets bundled over.

These are given as penalties probably more often than not, though it is understandable why the ref didn’t give it.

2 weeks on and we’re still going on about the penalties. Liverpool and their fans really can’t take the fact we should have won that game, goes against their narrative that they are the best thing since sliced bread on the cusp of major glory. Deflection at its best.

I was talking about the penalty shout against Juve. Wasn’t that what the subject matter was?

Sorry, you’re right and I wasn’t having a go at you at all...just weary of all the penalty talk I forgot we gave two away ourselves this week.

Yep, the BeIn Sport coverage I was watching didn't even show the side angle replay after the goal. When watching live i thought it must have been close so wanted to see the replay, but nothing.

Yet kane is still a diver from 2 weeks ago

Wankers

BT Sport didn't show the side on replay until half time as the pictures were controlled by the host director who presumably didn't show it because it was clearly offside.

Our past history as a selling club has become a mindset for most of media and pundits alike. It will be difficult to break this mindset irrespective of success, as these half witted twats will always default to believing we are and always will be a selling club.

In the last three and a half seasons Liverpool have had to sell Suarez, Sterling and Coutinho. You never hear them described as a selling club.

Not only that but 1) he didn't actually gain any advantage from the offside and 2) sometimes you have to give credit where it's due, what a great finish to strike it from that angle :wideyed:
Me neither. There have been so many supposedly contentious decisions lately but the way I see it is that if parts of their bodies are in line then that’s it, they’re level. I wonder what the finer points of the interpretation of the offside law are in that respect, and realise it’s harder perhaps than it seems, but it we’ve been told for ages that “level” means not offside....

If any body part with which the ball can be played is offside then the player is offside.

Yes I heard that stated on tv recently. Is that in the law book, under the section where the laws are explained, or is that just the media putting their own interpretation on? I did a referees course 20 years ago and reffed a few games, so I have huge sympathy with refs and Lino’s if they’re supposed to be looking at where someone’s boot is at the same split second a ball is kicked by another player 30 yards away...

The stupid thing is, in this "article" Stevie G doesn't say sign Wanyama. It says this:

Steven Gerrard says Liverpool should sign Tottenham star Victor Wanyama.

Reds coach Gerrard reckons Jurgen Klopp's side need a midfield enforcer to protect their shaky back four.

And the former England star says Tottenham midfielder Wanyama would be the ideal addition for the Reds this summer.

“I think Liverpool would benefit from a monster of a centre-midfielder, a holder,” Gerrard said.

“A Wanyama-type player who does sit in and is disciplined, and he would give more protection to the back four.”

Absolute terrible reporting.
