I live in Australia (a country that calls football soccer) and all my mates are saying spurs got lucky.
You're 2-0 down in the first few minutes away from home to one of the best teams in Europe and then proceed to dominate for the remainder of the game; you create numerous good chances and only good goalkeeping denies you more goals; you restrict said opposition to hardly any chances of their own. I fail to understand what world somebody lives in if he then says that you were lucky.

Most of them only read the game reports and read about the missed penalty.

Another interesting Guardian article this evening titled “it’s time to ignore the sceptics and take delight in this Tottenham team”. It’s a good read but paints a different picture of the media’s love of Spurs than this thread would have you believe.

I typed in Juventus vs Tottenham and watched a couple of channels' analysis.

One had Harry Redknapp on it (not sure which... Had a 3 in it). Never seen him so complimentary. Was saying players should stay, we're a massive club. Why would anyone wanna go elsewhere? Was also very adamant Kane will stay.

He was really behind us. Was refreshing. Everyone else I've seen says Kane will & should leave if/when Madrid come calling

TV3 in Ireland.

Agree 100%. Any time we beat a 'big' team, that team were always 'under par' or 'not at the races' or 'had an off day'.

We rarely get enough credit.

Just as when a team beats us they will talk about the faults in our performance.

Unless the team that lost was very unlucky they are not going to crow over their performance but highlight that they were poor and why. It's how football works.

I’ve got a mate that calls himself a tottenham fan but he’s one of those that doesn’t really care... it doesn’t effect his weekend if we lose I spoke to him this morning and he said we were a bit lucky last night

even here in the States Leander Schaerlaekens who is arguably the most respected US soccer columnist (and understands football about as well as most of the parents of a high school team) framed it as a negative - as in we should've won.

Juve were a bit lucky too. It was a fair result.

Steven Goff and Grant Wahl are better (though Wahl is more mainstream now).

Listening this morning in the US to the Football Show and Grumpy Pundits on SXMFC, all they could talk about was how Eriksen is the one that should be going to RM. One week it is Kane leaving, the Alli, then Eriksen. Tommy Smyth thinks the PL kick ball and all technically skilled players should go to Spain ..... What a bunch of C*@p!

THAT fact has hardly been mentioned anywhere by anyone.
Yep, the BeIn Sport coverage I was watching didn't even show the side angle replay after the goal. When watching live i thought it must have been close so wanted to see the replay, but nothing.

Yet kane is still a diver from 2 weeks ago
