I think that what a lot of observers fail to understand, or care to mention, is that what we are currently trying to do is almost unprecedented in the premier league era. We are building a team, not buying a team, that has the ability to challenge for honours on a consistent basis. On a budget! No team has done it. You could argue that Leicester did it, but they didn't really. Where are they now? Where is the progression? The infrastructure for sustained success?

It all takes time. Building a winning mentality takes time. Finding the right blend of players takes time. I couldn't give a monkey's about winning the FA cup at the moment! Arsenal have won 3 of the last 5, would you swap places with them? I wouldn't!

The Sun living up to our pundit angst with tomorrow's main back cover story...

"Spurs may have to sell Harry to bankroll stadium" according to...

...Arsene Wenger.

I didn’t realise we’d shared all our stadium financial information with arsenal and in particular Wenger. Very kind of Levy.

He said we’d only get £100m for him too.

And there were loads of yids licking his arse when he announced his retirement. Fuck him.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Liverpool.

I know they didn't play last night but I haven't heard any mention of how the wheels might come off during the run in their flamboyant and swashbuckling season.

Not a media ripple.
Champions League finalists Liverpool, you mean? yeah I can't quite work out why they're not currently being criticised.

I can tell you what they arent saying.

'Liverpool dropped to 4th as Spurs leap frogged them into 3rd place and sealed CL football for next season after Chelsea bottled it at home against Huddersfield. Liverpool may now finish outside the top 4 if results go against them on Sunday.'

No one is saying that.

No one lol.
That would be lovely especially if they lose CL final

He even said we may have to sell to Arsenal.

When’s he fucking off again?
He's shooting his gob off about everything now.
Childishly painting over his failures with 'EPL will be gone in a few years anyway' drivel.
Sulking twat.

Arsenal/Wenger did it before they sold to Kronke and Usmanov.

Not as competitive then as now mind you, and there wasn’t the money, quality of player or manager stretching down the league there is now

They did but you could argue that the foundations of their success were laid down in the late 80s early 90s. Wenger came in and changed things but that early success was built on the defence that was already in place. They also spent money and could attract a level of player that ironically they perhaps couldn't get now. Would the Overmars or Bergkamps of today go to Arsenal?

As you say, it is also far more difficult now because of the money in the premier league.

But yes, it is certainly debatable.

You didnt just put Ozil and Aubamayang in the same group as Bergkamp and Overmars did you?

To be fair, Overmars signed for the scum as a 24 year old that had never played outside of Holland, Ozil was a far more established player after his time in Madrid than the Marc Overmars who left Ajax for The Arse.

Bergkamp again had been brilliant at Ajax, but flopped in Italy, so I would put his and Aubamayang signings at a similar level.

The players they ended up becoming may well be a different story, but @Bus-Conductor was comparing them as signings.
