Cue everyone talking about an anti Spurs bias.
well it's a bit of a shitter to hear after finishing 3rd and having a new stadium to move into.

These are the sorts of comments that come back to bite whoever says them in the arse when it's not true. It's not as if Shearer or Wright are any sort of authority on the club.

I see MOTD have managed to put a negative spin on another spurs win and our season as a whole. Takes the piss how much the media have got it in for us.

I doubt they would have said anything if it wasn’t for Poch’s words afterwards. Like it or not, what he said was quite revealing and they are just giving their opinion on it based on the way we have operated as a club up until now.

Shearer on MOTD says he doesn't think Spurs will spend enough money this summer and there's every chance Pochettino will leave.

Wright says Spurs need to pay the money (wages).
I thought they looked pretty uncomfortable, they had to show our match first because of the goals but didn’t want to give any praise at all for finishing third.

Poch didn’t have to come out with that stuff in his press conference, inviting comments..... just saying.
Again they didn't have to cover it, they could have talked about any number of things including the end of our run at Wembley or the new stadium .... It's easier to take the road most walked I guess.

Why do people think there's an anti Spurs bias, the pundits have no reason to dislike us, I think they genuinely want Spurs to be up there and challenging but don't believe that we have what it takes to push on which is money, and we don't so what's the problem?

It's up to Levy to start paying more and listening to his manager until that happens that particular narrative will be around, for the record I happen to think that we're gonna see changes this summer, been alluded too far too many times on here from respected opinions.

I've noticed on the news and various online places that Liverpool are being praised for securing 4th ahead of Chelsea but not being criticised (if that's the right word) for missing out on 3rd to Spurs. Also haven't seen Spurs being praised for getting 3rd.

Liverpool were 3rd for ages. Spurs 4th for ages. All they had to do was not throw away a 2 goal lead vs WBA. Spurs are said to have limped across the line despite actually gaining a place in the last few weeks.

It's not anti or pro, it's just an odd slant to take.

Look at the sports pages. Listen to the news reports on the radio. We just won a game 5-4 to secure 3rd in the league. Above Liverpool. There's not a mention of us.

Yawn same old bollocks as per usual then - the pundits for the most part didn't have us finishing in the top four this year, ergo in their world we've over achieved.

Finish top three - the manager, the world class talent etc is all off.

Never mind gents, there is always next year.

Shearer's a fucking terrible pundit with no insight at all, full of opinions based on a very limited understanding of the game, boring **** too...

However must agree on Poch, those are slightly out of order comments I think, he knew the constraints when he came in and they don't disappear easily....I understand his frustrations but does this stuff have to be aired in public? Does it help? Surely Levy and him can discuss this away from the press?

Must say the book made me uneasy also, I honestly didn't see what it was supposed to achieve...

I don’t necessarily think what he said was out of order. I just think it strange that people would not expect the media to jump all over them, and I don’t believe that poor innocent Poch with his limited English didn’t know exactly what he was saying either.

Just read it, and yeah they have picked out the juicy bit and made it sound a bit more negative.... that’s the media, that’s what they do. Not just with Spurs.
True, it wouldn’t kill them to say something positive once in a while though. I think a lot of it is jealousy, especially after we were supposed to struggle to get top half with the ‘Wembley hoodoo’. As soon as we started winning at Wembley the narrative changed to ‘Spurs don’t pay their players enough’, ‘they’ll all be off in the summer’, and then ‘Spurs need to win something’. They just shift the goalposts to put us down at every opportunity.
