I don’t necessarily think what he said was out of order. I just think it strange that people would not expect the media to jump all over them, and I don’t believe that poor innocent Poch with his limited English didn’t know exactly what he was saying either.
Having read the whole thing it doesn't read badly at all....the media are definitely spinning things but you're right Poch isn't daft at all...

True, it wouldn’t kill them to say something positive once in a while though. I think a lot of it is jealousy, especially after we were supposed to struggle to get top half with the ‘Wembley hoodoo’. As soon as we started winning at Wembley the narrative changed to ‘Spurs don’t pay their players enough’, ‘they’ll all be off in the summer’, and then ‘Spurs need to win something’. They just shift the goalposts to put us down at every opportunity.

Yeah they’re ***** and I agree it’s tedious.

Shearer can't help himself, he seems to think that clubs should just put their hands in the pockets to match Man City, without any real thought as to how they can actually do it, much like many modern day pundits spout on about smashing wage ceilings as if it can be done as simply as they seem to think it can be done. Dickheads ! Wasn't he one of the same dismissive dickheads that said at the beginning of the season we would fall well short of top 4 because we hadn't spent enough and we were playing all our home games at Wembley.

It would have been decent of him to acknowledge his wrongs by admitting that he was too hasty in dismissing us so easily in getting top 4 but it doesn't surprise me that he hasn't.

As I sign off both Shearer and Wright are still banging on about how Liverpool are likely to get 100 points next season and still thinking they are the best thing since sliced bread. If they were that bloody good then why did they finish 4th, which was below us ?

Also, there are some articles giving us credit. Even from Sky. Quite a balanced one the other day saying how well we’ve done considering the relative finances of the other top six clubs.

No he's putting pressure on the board, he's been doing that for the last month, but this isn't some kind of ultimatum or something that the BBC made it appear.

Agreed there are some balanced views in the written media. It’s just the muppets we have to put up with on tv.

I don't think there is any media conspiracy against us.
Liverpool deserve the praise they have got this season. Best player in the league and a CL final.
Pochettino's comments were more exciting than us finishing 3rd.
As for the comments, I don't know what to make of them. If we listen to the ITK, we are spending big. If we stick to trend, then Poch will be walking.
Either way its gonna be eventful.

Liverpool won’t be anywhere near a league title, they burn themselves out in games nevermind over a season. You’d think supposed football experts would pick up on that.

I’ve found in the last few years I watch less and less of Match of the Day, and if I do I record it and watch it on rewind so I can forward all their bollocks chat between games.

They actually finished this season with one point less than last season.

Shearer's a fucking terrible pundit with no insight at all, full of opinions based on a very limited understanding of the game, boring **** too...

However must agree on Poch, those are slightly out of order comments I think, he knew the constraints when he came in and they don't disappear easily....I understand his frustrations but does this stuff have to be aired in public? Does it help? Surely Levy and him can discuss this away from the press?

Must say the book made me uneasy also, I honestly didn't see what it was supposed to achieve...
They are not slightly out of order, they are completely decontextualized. Particularly the leaving remarks, Poch has always been ambiguous on his future for obvious reasons, namely things can change very quickly in football, if he makes a commitment it would bad for him.

But the discussion with Levy stuff, as if its like give a wad of money, is an ultimatum. It clearly isn't, its a discussion, he has ideas of how to improve in the future, but also reasserts that we do things differently than other clubs and we patient and realistic. He then says he certain levy will listen to him. But the meeting hasn't happened. For me what he is saying is phase one at the club has finished we need a new project he has ideas and will talk to levy. Thats it.

One of the three is a commentator I've never heard of who said we'll finish 2nd. The other two were Peter Schmeichel (3rd) and John Hartson (4th)

Robbie Savage said we'll finish 6th which is funny given he's the worst for the "what have you won" brigade. Presenter on 606 for once pulled him up on moving the goalposts. Shame it took so long!

Fergusson built his team a few times. He also made utd a juggernaught.
He also took a long time to get going, in fact we are probably ahead of Ferguson in terms of the building of the squad, after 4 years Ferguson had won the fa cup, but only that, and their league position was way worse than anything we've done. Its not like he inherited a bad team either.

Man Alex Fergeson would have been sacked if he was hired today well before any success came.

Shearer said we have our model and won't change it, he isn't wrong but only because he has absolutely no idea whatsoever what our model is, he thinks he does but he's an idiot.
We have never had a wage cap as in we won't pay anyone more than a certain figure, what we have is a rule to keep our wages to a percentage of turnover and we will continue with that I have no doubt. What will change is our turnover so our wages will increase accordingly and that is what he doesn't understand.
A lot of these pundits are in for a surprise I think.
