what was said? at work so cant listen

Bellamy saying that everyone is over-reacting because of the Watford defeat and highlighting that the players are tired because many of them didn't have a pre season, also says he has a lot of time for us, reckons we're gonna be there or there abouts at the end of the season, also says we're winners.

Merson saying that the team lacks mentality, saying that tiredness is just an excuse and we should have been beating Watford away from home especially after beating Utd. Also saying that we should have bought players in in the summer.

Bellamy and Merson were going at it for a couple of mins, Bellamy was running rings round him, gave him the Hazard example and said that he didn't play Chelsea's first two matches because he wasn't fit, also said that Lucas is Spurs' best player because he was resting in the summer, Merson could only come back and say he wasn't having it lol

Bellamy spot on once again.

I could only bear to watch the first five minutes but I thought Merson had a point: you can't use tiredness as a reason for losing a 2-1 lead at Watford, especially when six days earlier you show no signs of tiredness when winning at Old Trafford.

I don't think it can be discounted though.

it's not simply tiredness, it's a lack of preseason. You can't be fully fit with a week of training for nine WC players. Poch once said you need six weeks to reach that level. Beside Watford being very strong and fresh at the moment, for Spurs players it was absolutely natural to drop the intensity after a huge effort at Old Trafford.

Merson should have started with the last 30 secs, that would have made a much more interesting segment.

I agree with the first bit about match fitness, but natural or not, a top class winning team does drop its intensity for these so called “lesser teams”.

These are one of the things that have to be eradicated if we want to go one step further. As Poch alluded to, we were just coasting, which isn’t good enough.

Said that Lucas was our best player on Monday, which can't really be argued.
I don't think that was a fitness thing though, it was more a tactical thing. If it was fitness he'd have run the show on Sunday as well.
Much as I don't like Merson, I think both of them make reasonable points.
Bellamy - 9 players involved in WC Semi finals, no proper break, no pre-season
Merson - We do seem to have a mentality problem sometimes. We rarely come flying out of the traps and dominate from the start. We have a tendency to wait until 2nd half.

Do you think they chose to act like that or they didn't have the stamina to produce more wattage?

Which makes his pre-Watford, dressing down comments about the old Trafford performance all the more interesting. If he knows it takes six weeks to reach that level then why come out and say the performance at old trafford wasn't good enough, surely going by his own beliefs he should realise there was a chance he was not going to see the best from his players, especially against man utd at old trafford.

Really? i though we were run around by ManU in the first half and were lucky not to be two goals down at half-time. In the second half we scored two quick goals and that of course gave us the energy but Mourinho was right and until the third goal they were in the game. Said already that I don't think we have been up to speed in any game so far.

Two goals down?? Nah, we should have had a penalty for the foul on Lucas

The only clear cut chance was Lukaku's open goal?

All in all not a bad start before an international break 3 wins out of 4.

And I thought both Merse and Bellamy made good points.

No disrespect to Watford, but going ahead against such teams and not adding on the pressure but being pegged back and lost was a lack of mentality for me. We could have gone top of table and yet we blew that chance again ffs..

Bellamy always says a lot of good things about us. I like him. I always have like that short arse no necked human.

He is always on our side and was the only pundit that didnt really have a go at the club for not signing anyone although he did suggest it is always good to bring in one or two but not a necessity.
