Even if there is a Spurs agenda in the media, which there isn’t by the way, why does it bother you so much??

There is an agenda against every single side with a large following because conflict and controversy makes people phone in (and thus pay money) to radio stations, it makes people click on links to stories which gives the sites ad revenue, it creates "debate and discussion" (in practice petty mud slinging). In short, controversy sells. Big time.

Spurs are treated no worse (or better) than our competitors are.

The gullible on here who have called me out for saying that there is an "anti spurs agenda" they should try listening to talk sport and love radio and if they do and can then say there is not an anti spurs media agenda then I can say for sure it is not me being over sensitive or indeed paranoid but they are being foolish for thinking these media people are fair and even handed
to be fair mate i think the gullible ones are the ones who listen to 'talk sport'

I only ever listen to ****y and Goldstein at 10pm whilst im going through my work emails - its entertaining but that is what it is. It is entertaining, if you take it seriously it will make you go ballistic.

I think its a 50/50 split in terms of outfield players in a combined 11. The only position is keeper and id give to Lloris a) I am biased; and b) because he has had more minutes in the PL than their keeper

I prefer to go about with my eyes and ears open I also prefer to back the club I support
I would hate to be a liberal do good who never sees anything biased .
If you had watched the media this week then you will know that Liverpool have been portrayed as a perfect club a perfect team and a perfect manager with perfect fans .If that kind of media reporting does not get up your nose then nothing will .
whereas spurs have a squad size problem ;a problem with Kanes injury ;the manager is week for not stripping Lloris of the captaincy ;the stadium delays must be affecting the players .
Now some of these things are correct and some not but the point I am making is that when you have a media made up of almost all of which are ex Liverpool and Arsenal players they report in a way which is always biased be it intentional or subliminal.
All I ask for is equality in media reporting
It is no coincidence that the most fair minded media reporters are not ex Liverpool Man unt or Arsenal players the problem is there are so few of them

caught some of the Savage show on 5 live and all the pundits are going 2 or 3-1 away win tomorrow. I'm not confident myself, but will feel better if I see Sanchez and Rose on the team sheet tomorrow morning...

Please keep politics out of this. Your use of the word liberal really winds me up, this has absolutely nothing to do with any of this. We are all Spurs fans, from every corner of society, of any political viewpoints and of all genders. Calling other Spurs fans "liberals", as if it's an insult, for not believing that the world and its dog is against us is, frankly, pathetic.

And as I know this post will take the thread completely off track, I apologise to the rest of you on here and promise I won't continue spamming this thread.

I won't feel confident Sanchez if it means a back three with Toby, him and Jan. Playing a back three against Liverpool's 4-3-3 is suicide, it forces the wing-backs to play deeper to cover so we don't end up with constant 1-on-1s when we're defending.

But I am still fairly confident, we know we can beat them.

I get where you're coming from, and subject to no injury niggles I suspect he'll go with the Belgians in a 4.

I expect it to be cagey, and decided by who counter-attacks with end product. Unless either side concedes from a set piece of course, and we all hope what training sessions we've had since Watford will bring an improvement at both ends in that regard.

Jeez! Your opinion is just your opinion... it does not equate to the truth just because you want it to. I'm sure that all football clubs feel that the media have an anti-them agenda and can point to countless pieces that show them in a bad light. If you truly did go about with your eyes and ears open you would be aware of this, so please don't make out that others (the "liberal do gooders" lol) are blind sheep, it's embarrassing.

All I ask for is equality in media reporting

Sports reporting in the media is never going to be balanced or equal. Sport itself is a subjective form. Just because one team beats another in a match doesn't necessarily mean they are better, it simply means that their team on the day beat the opponents on the day given the circumstances on the day.

If the sports media were to be truly unbiased then all they would report would be match statistics and that's boring. We read these pieces because they contain analysis or opinion, so that is always going to be subjective and liable to bias. If you get worked up every time you read a biased piece of sports journalism I suggest you stop reading it.

To keep even slightly on topic, here is a piece of sports journalism from one of those ex-Liverpool players who always reports in a way that is biased and is never fair minded:

Liverpool came unstuck against Spurs at Wembley last season but I have a feeling that both teams might cancel each other out this time.

So I am going to go for a draw.

Both teams are going well, and I think they would both be happy enough for a point.

I disagree

Playing Sanchez in a back 3 is an absolute must if we are going to compete with their pace and the back and keep the ball wide with trippier and rose.
I've watched Liverpool enough times to see they only counter when there is a square pass made across the midfield. It's the trigger for them to counter press. So if we focus on playing up the wings with Lucas and Eriksen providing support to Kane that will negate their style of play.
Central pairing need to be quick and have positional discipline. (Winks and a fit Wanyama would work but Dembele in current circumstances). Dier needs to stay on the bench for this one as he makes too many unforced errors in possession to be relied upon against Liverpool's style

Have you tried not watching media reports on football teams?

I did it years ago, it’s wonderful.

Seriously though, why do you give a damn what someone else thinks or feels about the club? If they’re biased, stop reading their stuff. If reports on tv are biased, don’t watch them. Tune in for the game and avoid whatever “agenda driven” diatribe that you know is coming before or after by turning it off.

You want a fair media? Send me pictures of the unicorns in that fantasy world when you see them! As has already been said, controversy sells, as does reporting positive articles on teams that have the largest followings. Those fans will lap up the positive spin on their team, whilst lapping up negatives on their rivals, thereby creating greater revenue...

After all, money is king.

Balanced media is a thing of the distant past. Either get used to it and treat it with the contempt it deserves, or ignore it completely.

Will someone please make their way over to the "what our opponent's fans are saying" thread to get their punctuation sorted.
