I read it. The main impression that I got from it is that the writer is a self-satisfied twat whose main objective was to show how clever he is.

The part that irritated me was the following: "For the past 13 years Tottenham have been trying to become more like their neighbours." Utter bollocks. For the last twenty-five years Tottenham have been trying to return to being what they always were. In the meantime Arsenal achieved what they always wanted: to become like Tottenham.
Reading any article must be like a living hell for you

We really missed a trick with B Sliva. Those players just above a price range at the time are now double. I trust we'll be brave this coming window and break some of transfer records at least twice hopefully 3 times.

That's easy to say. I don't think we did.

For us, when we buy a player we have to ensure he's the right fit and has a high chance of making it in our squad. It's more risky for us buying abroad.

City ? Well they buy in batches and give not one fuck, hope 2 or 3 are gems, then disregard the rest. Rinse and repeat, they can afford to do it.

Did we really miss a trick though, was he ready to come to us but we didn't want to pay the money or were we not even on his radar because he and his agent had already put down a marker for the likes of Manchester City?
I agree that it was a shame though and I'm with you full square on the summer window, it's time to do something and it's not just the money it's the statement that makes. We have the stadium and we will have won the Champions League:cool: so we need to walk the walk, if we don't tell them we are the best nobody else will.

I have to admit he was a pain in the arse on Ref Watch today he kept interrupting Dermot Gallagher to give his point of view. I was hoping Dermot was going to send him off.

He’s a football journalist, he’s a self satisfied twat because he has a bachelors in media studies from a third rate university and has actually found gainful employment.

Tottenham and those bench options
You are third in the Premier League, and have reached the Champions League final. Victory over West Ham at home will guarantee you a Champions League place, but you trail 1-0 and have played poorly. You turn to your bench in hope of Saturday lunchtime salvation. And then you see your options.

This weekend, Liverpool brought Joe Gomez, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on as substitutes. Chelsea called upon Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Pedro, leaving Olivier Giroud where he was. Manchester United introduced the highest-paid player in the country, and kept Anthony Martial in reserve. Even Arsenal, that thin, messy squad, brought on Laurent Koscielny and Matteo Guendouzi.

Mauricio Pochettino was searching for a goal and was forced to turn to Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente. That pair of strikers have scored seven league goals between them since August 2017. Not sure Ajax will be sh*tting bricks about either of them.

Its almost as if we didn't remotely consider this eventuality when given the opportunity to add players to the squad...
Wait, so our transfer policy should be founded on the premise that when we get to the end of the season we're going to have shitloads of injuries in the middle and attacking thirds? There's no way we could have predicted the extent of this IMO.

That's a bit of an exaggeration, but there's no denying that one or two extra midfielders would have been a big help this season.
