Not sure what he was meant to do, his first start for a couple of months out in a game that we approached with no great urgency, cruise control pretty much so no real conclusions to draw.
I certainly saw nothing that made me think he isn't still a terrific player.

I can't believe so many people want him back in the first XI still. Davies has been brilliant and consistent this season, Rose has done nothing to show that he should get the nod of him yet, and has a long way to go to prove that in my opinion.

Davies deserves to be seen as the clear first choice for now. I'm not sure I even trust Rose anymore.

At the moment he looks like he's trying to remodel his game into being somewhat of a creative LB type. Lots of nice touches, but zero energy that he was showing at his best.

Davies is hands down the first choice right now. But we need to be patient with Danny, I would absolutely hate it if we sold him to United/City and he returned to his best.

Why should Davies be dropped? He’s been one of our top 5 players this season! Rose has yet to prove himself to be back at his best, until then why change?

If you could combine both, we would have some player. The same could be said at RB.

Deservedly second choice to Davies who has been excellent. Without that extra yard of pace (which he appears to have lost), he's a more limited player than Davies. Perhaps it's a fitness issue and his pace will return but right now everyone must agree he's not the same player of a couple of seasons ago. Were it not for his comments in the summer and his age there probably wouldn't be much of a debate, but Rose leaving in the summer (if we can obtain a good fee) may be the best solution for all parties, including Rose himself.

Rose's game is all about high energy and he isn't going to get that until he is fully match fit, once that happen's he's the no.1 choice !!

If that happens, and he can show some consistency and form he might be first choice. The thing is right now he's a long way off that.

Strange article, we get him fit and play him at leftback for competition with Davies.

Now what kind of question is that?? Get him more match fit for fs and rotate with so many important fixtures coming up. He is such an important player to have. And stop insinuating with such ??????? You keep the best players not move them.

When both fit and at their best, Rose is 1st choice for me - and I really like Davies.

I think without a doubt that more people would be willing Rose back if he hadn’t been such a **** a few months ago. I still have issues with what he did and if both were 100% fit, my heart would say Davies but my head would say Rose. Davies has improved beyond belief from what was already a good player but Rose was the best LB in the prem before his injury. If he sorts his head out this summer and properly commits, then he’d be my number one. If he goes, he will be excellent wherever he ends up so we should certainly not sell him to any club in England.

If all that happens, then yeah. But so far, he's hardly managed to get himself fit. When was the last time he played a run of games? If he can get himself fit, and if he can reach the level performance of a year ago then yeah, he will probably eclipse Davies, he's just nowhere near that right now, and I'm not sure he'll get there.

We’ll see. It’s far too early considering he’s played a handful of games in over a year. Rose is a dynamic player and they tend to take a bit more time to get back to their old selves. I’m sure the pace will return (though he’s not really been slow lately) as will the crunching tackles, surging runs and crosses, the arrogance etc. Will take a couple of months I imagine. I do think he’ll leave in the summer though.

This sums it up. An at his peak Danny Rose gets in in front of Davies. But we've seen little or no evidence to suggest he will return to his peak form of 1 or 2 years ago. I don't know why some people are so sure he can recapture that given his injury history?

Nothing less than £75m if he’s fit. Walker went for 50 last year. Wing backs are one of the most important positions nowadays for teams who use them.

Yes - if he is fit - has he lost pace, then he is'nt a 75m player
